Just wondering if removing the lower rad bolts gives one enough room to put the front pipe on. Looks pretty tight there. Has anyone had to remove any hoses to get more room?

On another note: Got my V&H pipes on Thursday. Unpacked to put them on Saturday and found 3 damaged parts, the master cylinder cover, the rear heat shield, and the mounting bracket. All damage was due to bad packaging. Can’t call until tomorrow to get replacements. Anyone else having issues like this lately with V&H?

Thanks

Hey otrp- I just use a short combination wrench on that very front pipe header nut.

I just did my pipes a couple days ago without loosening the Rad at all.
I used a square of cardboard against the rad in case my wrench got away from me or the pipe.
I just used an open end wrench on the fwd bolt and sockets on everything else.
Piece of cake!.
Sounds like a plan. As soon as I get V&H to replace my damaged parts, I'll be good to go. :)

Same here, didn't have to remove any rad bolts. In addition to the cardboard I taped of the frame downtube just to be safe. A bit of 2" masking tape.

I did remove the lower radiator mount bolts and made it much easier to install. Takes about 60 seconds....
I will have to keep that in mind next time a do a pipe change. Thanks:thumb:
