So I painted most of the chrome on the bike with plasti-dip. It all seems to be holding up well except for the cover by my shifter. It seems my riding boots have scrapped away a small section of it. For those of you that have done this cheap easy mod what is the best way to prevent this? Besides riding with my boots further from the bike LOL. I am going to do the scootmods 3" ext in the very near future and would like to know if this would fix it?

for that you're probably going to have to prep and paint that piece.

I kind of figured as much. I am very paint challenged. it took me the better part of a weekend to do the covers with plasti-dip and thats almost idiot proof. LOL

I understand! Honestly painting is no harder than Plasti Dip. Just wet sand with 600 grit, clean and dry, hit it with some adhesion promoter primer, let dry and then paint that one piece and you'll be good to go!
