I thought I'd post some pics of my intake for anyone who's looking for new/different mods. I got it from Performance Machine and used the Low & Mean intake adapter. Its definitely the favourite mod I've done so far. (Just a note, I didn't wipe the packing oil off before I took the pictures. It actually has a nice finish :p)

FYI its not "packing oil" that's the standard K&N filter oil, it's red. There are different different colour oils out there but red is all K&N makes. Looks good. Did you get a sock for the rain?
I think Nickmo was refering to the oily residue on the metal parts and not the air filter itself. I'm sure the actual filter itself came sealed inside its own packaging..

Thanks guys! Yeah I figured the oil might be from the filter too. And it did come with a rain sock. A must at the car wash, which I found out the hard way! I was pretty careful, but just a little bit of overspray washed the oil off the filter.

I'm running the Cobra auto tuner. Works really well. I did the intake, exhaust and programmer at the same time so I'm not sure what added the most power. It was definitely noticeable. There was a huge increase in throttle response an it doesn't chug at low speed in 1st anymore.

I really like that intake. I might sell my hypercharger when I get back in June and go for something like that, if not that one then the cobra intake. Still undecided though... but I have 5 more months to think about it. Which bike did you pick for you intake??

The whole setup was a little under $500 shipped to me in Canada. I bid on the intake on eBay and got in on the forum deal from L&M for the intake adapter. I think the whole thing would have been about $680 retail.

The L&M adapter will work with any intake designed for a Harley with CV carbs. I think 90's era Sportsters ran those carbs
