 So the power commander 5 comes with stock settings and no info on how to tune or "map" anything. Huge dissapointment!!
The instructions say to go to the power commander website for more map downloads but the only available downloads for the Stryker are stock exhaust/stock air cleaner....WTF?
After spending a lot of money hooking up a PCV, its real comforting knowing that I will probably have to pay some dyno center even more money to dial in this high dollar turd for me........Should have bought the Cobra auto tuner. Plug and play seems like the logical choice unless your a NASA computer programmer who understands this crap.......Feel free to comment. I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this "issue"
A fig fat "shame on you" to Power Commander for putting something out there that advertises itself as an upgrade that cant be upgraded as advertised.

Thanks for the article Roadkill but whom ever wrote it was also using the auto tuner while fine tuning it. Also, the article uses map examples from a Raider but you can not load another map from a bike on to a bike specific PCV. ( I tried it yesterday using a map for the VXS 1300 I found available on the PC website)
It is an informative article but just not applicable for my situation. Perhaps once I find the map I need, that will be useful for super fine tuning. For now, I just need a map for cobra swept pipes and hypercharger air cleaner so as to not run too lean.

I am curious...I heard the V-Star 1300 was the same basic engine... minor changes in valve geometry. Exact same horsepower from factory... Why wouldn't the V-star maps work?

I just browsed the Power Commander website... there are like 15 different configs for the 2011 XVS1300!!! I wonder if one of those would work!

I tried the V Star 1300 because it has a ton of map options on the website but the software wont let you load a different bikes map system :(
OK .. I just read the PC-V manual... it basically says to take the bike to a "authorized tuning facility" and have it calibrated OR install the autotune....

Thats exactly my point. After paying $450 for the unit, they still get you by making you go to a tuning facility and spending even more money.....Total rip off!

I'm calling them now. I hope to have better news in a few minutes.

HOLY CRAP!!! Just got off the phone with Andrew (tech support at PC). Super awesome people. This guy basically hand designed a custom map for my bike and emailed it to me to add into the file. He also told me to contact him directly every time I bolt something on and they will make what ever changes need to be made no matter what. He also told me that if I'm not totally thrilled with the map he created, to call back as many times as I want until we get it dialed in perfectly.

I OFFICIALLY TAKE BACK ANY AND ALL NEGATIVE COMMENTS ABOUT POWER COMMANDER. (Looks like I'm havin crow for lunch today)

Thanks to everyone for your comments. First round is on me!

Deja's right!

PC tech support even had me go to the computer and this guy walked me through the entire program. I now know why their stuff costs so much.....they lose tons of man hours over the phone showing stupid people like me how to use their products and wont hang up until you understand it completely. My guy even gave me a few "tips" for some high performance tweaking.....I cant wait to get home and plug this stuff in to the Stryker.

They still should have it available on the website but maybe thats just because the bike is so new that many of the maps are still being created and fine tuned....

After waiting on hold for 20 minutes, my customer support experience was not nearly as amazing. I was told to download the existing maps and run rich until I could get to a dyno. Considering my bike only has the Baron big air kit, for now, there wasn't a map available.

An error code 39 popped up on my way back from a buddy's house. I read that to be an injector is stuck open. I don't know if it's due to me installing the Power Commander V but it's awfully coincidental. However, it seemed to clear up near the end of the ride and the following day it hasn't appeared again. Hopefully it was just a fluke. I called Drew, from power commander, and he went through the map with me and some troubleshooting steps and all seemed fine.
