Sorry if I missed it somewhere, but I searched and couldn't locate the info I was after. After replacing the exhaust and intake, does this unit just plug in and you're g2g or does it require the tuner or a dyno run from the start. I am seriously thinking about one for my next purchase, and I like the idea of being able to just run it and pick up the tuner at a later date if that's possible.

I have browsed through most of those links, but am still confused. I have read something about different maps for it, but someone posted that there was a significant lack of maps for our bike atm.

As for running it without a tuner, I only have the pipes on atm and it runs perfect. My hypercharger is supposed to come in today, and I'm not against trying it without a tuner, but am concerned about damaging my bike due to lean, etc.

With just pipes....no
With pipes and hc.....yes.
Call power commander, if you get one, they will practically tune your bike for you
So I can call them and they'll set it up with a decent enough preset that will work until I am able to pick up the tuner as well? If so, that sounds good.

I am using the cobra pipes/stock air filter. I just installed the PC-V today but it comes from the factory with stock settings :-\
The instructions say to go to the power commander website to download other maps but on their website, the only option is "stock" settings
Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Maybe I'm missing something. I've read many posts on here stating that a PC is not needed for just pipes but still, there has got to be something I'm missing. Lost of loud backfire when I decel and clutch out during down shift to slow the bike. Sounds like gunfire.

Here's one I don't always understand, but if your not using the auto tune feature add on, then just take the bike to get tuned. Personally since there hasn't been a lot of tunes done and ready to be downloaded, it seems the only thing to do...I don't do guess work and the numbers don't lie....I will post my results when I get it done...soon.

I emailed them and they responded that they don't have any custom maps atm but would tune it for me for free so they could put the map on the website. Its a great offer, but I'm a couple states away so thats a no go lol. Guess I'll keep saving so I can buy the pcv and the auto tune at the same time.

Well I am getting mine tuned at the dyno...custom map is the way to go imho....If there were a history with this bike, then ok you could get away with running a known setup...but sense there aren't any...then I will gladly pay the man. I will share the map when complete.

Anyone know if any website will be running a sale on a pcv for black friday? Wishful thinking I know, but I almost have enough saved up for one and I'm getting twitchy.

I just emailed their tech support and asked them if I bring in my bike to my local authorized tune centre for a custom map if they would cover the cost. I am awaiting reply. She's stored for the winter now with parts all over my livingroom floor, but I'll put er' back together again if they say "yes."

I would think your odds on that are pretty good. I emailed them a few weeks ago asking about maps and they offered to tune mine for free if I brought it in so they could add it to their website. Were I not several states away I would have jumped on that.

Chris got back to me. "Nope!"
They only post maps they make themselves. Pretty disappointing. I guess being a certified Dyno tech doesn't mean much.

Being a dyno Tech... don't you have access to a dyno?
