ok so the wife and i looked over our budget for the year, and since we paid off some bills, and it helped i got a nice little bonus.. she says "why dont you get those pipes you've been wanting!" Green light! i'm online right now surfing to buy before she changes her **** mind (you know how women are)

so i have a question.. the only thing i see in black are the Cobra Swepts. for those who have purchased these.. are they worth it? do they sound great? i see V&H only have the chrome and if i wait.. i economics might change in the house. So anyone with Cobra's if you can tell me if i can be heard, and will i be proud to hear it rumble..

Thanks!

I just installed my black swepts last week. I don't have the cobra PowrPro (backordered) or the PowrFlo installed yet, but I have to say going from my drilled stock pipes to these, it gave my Stryker the "voice" I was looking for.
I left the baffles in and they sound great! Good tone and volume.... and they look even better in person than any of the pics online show. I personally couldn't imagine running these pipes without the baffles.... omfg that would be sooo loud!! lol
I went for the Cobras because I personally like the look of them better than the vance & Hines.... they have a "cleaner" look that I was working towards.
I totally love the sound of the Swepts and cannot wait to get my other Cobra items installed to complete that part of my bike! :)

I have the cobra sweets and I love them. Great tone and look stunning. I also got the dunojet power commander at the same time which I recommend as well. They are loud but not obnoxious but hey if you like that ridiculous sound you can always take the baffle out of the cobra and make any Harley on the road have to plug his ears

That's funny, but true. My wife gave me the green light on buying the Stryker and that day I was on the phone with a dealer in San Diego, the following day the check was in the mail. The next day she was trying to give me the yellow light quickly progressing into red and I told her, too late done deal. Green light means you better go because that red will come on with a quickness.

hey shim... in another thread i heard the V&H's were too loud (somone got them in chrome) and if he wanted a quieter sound.. he'd have to spring for a different baffle another 150 or so dollars. whats your take on that?

Sander and hibusa... yea that was the way i got my bike she said "go" and i jumped.. so last night i had to jump on the pipes. lol. i ordered a the Sweeps from MeanCycles... at 649 with free shipping. i guess if low and mean have some in black... i guess i could re do my order first thing tomorrow morning.

I just put on the Cobra swepts last week. I had been waiting for the VH twin staggered, but got tired of waiting and was also not sure if it was the look I wanted. I am very happy with the look and sound of the cobra swepts. They were not as loud as I had expected, but the tone and volume are just perfect.

Here's my green light: Wife says I can also purchase a brand new ZX10R in Sept. when they drop the prices down $2000.00! I miss my sport bikes... It'll be great having both an awesome cruiser and sport bike in the garage... Gonna be fun deciding which one to take to work every day! ;D

No....faar from being rich...It's just that I was in a position of losing my job permanantly and now I was advised that my job is secure. As far as having the $$.. I just sold 5...yes 5 bikes within the last year and just kept the Stryker... I have this $$ in a completely different account and was going to put it in my regular account because I thought i was going to be unemployed.... Now that I'm not, I want 1 cruiser and 1 Sport bike as I've always had both and more than one of each at that! Now is the best time of the year to purchase because they all need to clear out their inventory and make room for 2012. This will be in my garage within 2 weeks ;D :

It's gonna go great with this:
