I test rode a Stryker today and loved it. I do have a question, though. I haven't ridden since I was a teenager (I'm 50 now) and I've never ridden anything like a Stryker. While I didn't have much trouble handling the bike I did notice that the driveline seemed rough with vibration. Is that just typical of a belt driven motorcycle? Is this what's referred to as driveline lash? I apologize for my ignorance but I'm really curious if this is how the bike is supposed to feel. I appreciate any feedback.

Keep the revs mid range. This bike likes to lug a little when you are in 5th gear and get below 50 to 55 mph. She wants to go! The aftermarket fuel processors will remedy this. Mine I can lug down to 45 now in 5th and still get on it without the accel vibration. in 30 mph town traffic 2nd gear is needed- with processor you can be in third without chugging. You will get used to this bike very quickly. Engine revs to near 6600 rpm. This was my first cruiser also and I am 51.

In addition to the low speed chugging that 11 mentions, I had significant vibration early on that was caused by the new clutch. It was kind of a grating or grinding feeling. Everything wore in pretty quickly and it went away. Could be what you experienced.

Just keep the rpm's up otherwise and you'll be fine.

Alot of it also that it is a V-twin... there is inherent vibrations. Then there is the gearbox... there is some what feels like it is going hard into gears when you shift... it is normal on a STRYKER. I have owned several bikes over the years and the STRYKER is by far my favorite!

I'll say normal for the stryker....I personally don't know why we get so much chatter...raider doesen't...warrior doesen't...lots of vtwins with belts don't. I do agree with what everyone is saying..its most certainly when your in the wrong gear for the speed. While on this topic I don't know why yamaha didn't address this, all writeups talk about it...and since I know firsthand they can build a bike without it..just wonder why they didn't. things that make me go hmm

Ya I'm thinking the gear ratio is wanting a bet more rpm per gear. My Malibu acted the same when I changed the rear end to 4-11 from 3-94. It lugged a bit more if I wasn't on the gas.
