Hey Chris:

I was taking a real close look at the Diego's custom and are those Arlen Ness Battistini grips on the bike? If so how did you know which ones would fit? Wanting to put Arlen Ness Rocket grips on my Stryker, but not sure which to order.

Thanks. You guys ROCK.

Those grips came from Yamaha accessories, they are real nice but there were a few down falls. We had to modify the location of the left side switch assembly so the grip was in the correct location; Drill the handle bars so the set screws seated into the bars; Sand off the paint on the left side of the bars to match the right side; clear coat the bars so they didn't rust (so we hoped); Clear greased the throttle so the grip would not scrap the bars and rust.

These grips were not a slam dunk, but worth the end result. Hope that helps answer some questions. Here's a link to where you can buy them from Yamaha http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star...ail/5/534/2214/20810/all/1/9492/0/detail.aspx
You'll have to call Arlen Ness on the fit of their other grips, when we called they were very helpful.

That sure was a lot of work to make them fit, but like you said, the end result.

well, I believe Battistini is a part of that yamaha lineup of custom
parts. I looked at those a long time ago but went with SMT. I
extended the ends and ground down the throttle side to allow
for powdercoating

Well, are their bars Chrome or did they powdercoat them?
If you keep your bars Chrome, you won't have to. I did all
that because of the coating.
BinB, check out Deja gallery, she has done a tremendous amount of mods, that she actually does herself, and not a shop. She knows her sh!t. :D

Deja, I am looking at the same grips from SMT (wanted the matching pegs, but they don't make them for metrics). Are they comfortable on long rides? I had the Kuryakyn ISO grips on my old bike, but going for a different look with this one. How much trouble was it to add these to your bike? I thought you could just put them on.

The grips fit with no problem. I have heard some say that they had to
squeeze the ends of the cables to get it to fit. Yes, I have shifter pegs
and you do have to do some modding. The grips are ok, they do wear on
your hands a bit. I wear gloves and you will need some sort of throttle
boss or cruise control for long trips.
