I have the low and mean brake light with the license plate holder. I thought the inspection sticker would look rediculous on by the plate so I put my inspection sticker on a plate bolted on my belt guard. I have never had any issues with it and I have had cops look at it and just tell me how nice my bike is! Now, thats not to say that I will not run across one some day that is having a bad day and gives me a ticket for it.

One of the two metal tabs on the factory inspection sticker plate broke in half within a month or two of having the bike. The factory inspection sticker plate hangs down fairly low off the rear duckbill. I would notice after hauling butt that the wind was bending the plate inward towards the tire...until it finally broke. My DPD bud told me to just pull the plate off and keep it under the seat. He said most cops ride and as long as I have a license and insurance they won't give a ticket for that since i have the plate with me.

I've heard the same that as long as you have it on the bike somewhere your good I honestly think the whole inspection of motorcycles and cars as well is a joke I wish Texas would get rid of the inspections. A buddy of mine told me awhile back he got pulled over for speeding and his inspection sticker had been out for over a year so instead of the cop writing him a ticket for speeding he wrote him one for no inspection and only had to go spend the 14 dollars for a inspection instead of the hundreds of dollars for the ticket. To me the inspection sticker should be hard mounted to the bike like the frame because if its on a plate you can easily move it from one bike to another don't ask me how I know this ;D

I ended up calling the dps to get an answer. Long story short, as long as you have it on you somewhere you are good. I carry mine in my backpack.
really? so, does this include the inspection tag?
Oops. Meant just the inspection sticker.
OK, so not the whole plate?

Correct, the plate is on a side mount.
