I am looking for some insight from Women that ride and have long hair. My wife recently started riding and has long hair. She wears a full face helmet but she is not sure what she should do with her hair. It is a tangled mess when we are done riding. She is thinking that maybe she should braid her hair when she rides. I dont really know if that would help or not so I am asking the women with long hair, Do you wear a half or full helmet and what do you do to keep your hair from becomming a tangled mess. For the record, I love her tangled look after a day of riding but she is not too happy to have to brush that knotted mess... ;)

My wife does a side pony tail so that it stays rested on her shoulder? Not entirely sure, but just a pony tail seems to keep it from going all ballistic after the helmet is off.

My wife braids her's sometimes and sometimes will do a ponytail, but was on her old helmet which was too big for her. Just got her a new helmet that fits the other day, so I do not know if a ponytail will fit.
Thanks, So does she pony tail it and shove it up in the helmet or just let it hang?

Thanks, That does make sense and is why she mentioned possibly just doing that.

p.s. not sure if the peg extensions can work on your pipes, but she will probably thank you.
Thanks, I Actually ended up going with the passenger floorboards and she said they are night and day from the pegs. My wife is 5'4" so no problems with floorboards and she say's the sitting position is perfect for her. On the other hand, she just got her permit again and I bought her a Honda Rebel so the riding we have done lately is side by side riding. I am thinking she will not be on the back of my stryker very much anymore.

Just asked her, she does the pony tail low on her head and let it hang below the helmet. it works for her, but I do not know how much longer your wifes hair is.
Thanks, I will have her try that. Her hair comes down to about mid back. It does seem like that is the best way to go.

She can make a ponytail and get one of those long leather covers that snap over her ponytail to get it from getting tangled. I wear a low ponytail with a half helmet. Now that it's getting longer, it does get a little tangled sometimes.

If I wear my half helmet I will do a pony tail and then pull it back through to make like a knot or braid it. With a full face helmet I will do a pony tail low on the head and braid it or just do a french braid.

Its still a mess, but not as bad when it is braided. But because I don't like short hair, I deal with it. :)

I'm not a female but I have long hair. I pull it back in a tail and put 3 or 4 of those rubber band type things in different places down to the end and just let it hang there problem solved..
Thanks, I never did reply back to this thread. The wife took Patrice's advise and just puts it in a low pony now and this has worked great for her. Good by tangles... Thanks to all that replied on here from my wife.
