I am planning on buying a Stryker in the very near future. I was curious to get opinions on whether it's worth the $1000 to put an aftermarket exhaust, probably Vance and Hines, a power commander and a K and N air filter on it. Will the power gains worth the expense. I'm pretty new to motorcycles and this will be my first bike. I haven't ridden since I was a teenager and that was a very long time ago. Just wanted some expert opinions on this matter.

Absolutely, I totally agree with Roadkill, I have done the Cobra tri-power setup with swepts, intake and auto-tune and comfort mods, overall the comfort mods are the mist significant but the added power is a binys

The Stryker is an excellent choice as it's a very stable and responsive bike. As for the power it has plenty already. And I agree you should ride it for a while before increasing the HP. And maybe look into mods for comfort especially for a passenger. And my opinion is for the amount of $s per gain of HP which is about 10 to 15 HP is not worth the money. But if it's the look and sound you wont to change that + the HP makes it worth it. I will do those mods my self in the future . And for now I drilled the baffles for better sound and a slight bit of better performance. I've done mods for passenger comfort and plan on doing mods for my comfort soon cause the riding season will be here and we do very long rides. The only thing I don't like about this bike is the fact that you have to pull your toes out from under the shifter. this I will change with a toe heal shifter. Oh ya and it sounds like a Yamaha. But that's one reason why I bought it cause it's a Yamaha.

Thanks for the insight 11Stryker. I think I will do that for a quick fix. Until I get the setup I want. And that might be all I need with the Kuryakyn swingwing pegs I want from Accessories 4 motorcycles.

yea, before I got the floorboards, I had same problem you are having, and I just adjusted linkage to make it better. Not perfect, but better. The Floorboards are such a big improvement over those Ladder Rungs!! the swingwing pegs would be an improvement over stock also.

Have you or are you gona get a toe heal and if so have you found one that will work with out hassle like the 1300 V Star some one posted they had to cut on weld to make that one fit. I think some where I saw that the toe heal shifter off the 1100 would bolt right on?

That was me Toby, Had to do use parts from both a VStar 1300 and existing shifter. welded all needed pieces together and painted Silver. May get rechromed someday.

Well thanks 11 Stryker that gives me some ideas like make temples and take them to some one that welds or just get a welding set up myself that way I can fab a lot more parts myself.
