Well a couple weeks ago there was a Car/Motorcycle/Airplane show in Osceola WI with air show and a radar run. I've never done this, nor have I ever been involved with anything like it before so I didn't know what to expect. You get a 1/4 mile on the runway to go as fast as you could. There was a sheriff at the end with his radar gun. The run was open to anyone and any vehicle with $25 and the first 100 signed up. The vehicles ranged from random motorcycles, a couple Ford GT's, a Lamborghini Gallardo, two sport quad ATVs, a pimped out 70's van, and huge slew of old and new muscle cars including a 1000 horsepower Stingray Corvette. Pretty awesome to see the variety of cars running down the runway. So I entered my Stryker. It's bone stock other than a few cosmetic mods. I managed 92 mph according to the gun. I hit the rev limiter in 2nd, so I know that affected my overall speed a little. As I passed the finish line I thought I saw 104 mph on the speedo, so 92 mph is believable. Not the fastest one there, but definitely fun and would recommend anyone that can do this, to do it.

The 1000 horse vette took first at 141 mph. Some motorcycle took 2nd at 138 mph and the guy I went with had a Kawasaki ZX14 and got 3rd at 134 mph. Here are a couple pics.

Skwerlee; that looks friggin awesome, would love to go full out for a whole mile! Granted this bike would top out before you finished, it would still be sweet!

Yeah it sure was a lot of fun. Can't wait to go again next year! This was a Wheels and Wings event which I'm pretty sure is a national thing. So they probably travel the country setting up shows.

Learned something about the process though. Not sure how it's done elsewhere, or if they are all the same, but if you are going to do it, get in line as close to the front as possible. Because they don't put you in an order, it's a first come first serve kind of thing. And because you are in line, you don't get to see all the vehicles in front of you run. Once your turn is done, they have you circle back on the next runway and sit there and watch the rest of the people go. So if you are towards the end of the line, you miss all the cars in front and spend a half hour or more inching forward through the parking lots to the runway. Being in front, you get to go and then sit on the runway next to it and watch all the fun up close. Just a little tip for anyone going to one someday.
