Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

The PCS directions were mediocre but installing these was not that bad. Here are some tips, and I
will plug in the photos of progress later.

1) I removed the upper and lower belt guards to make life easier. Two things, the upper and lower bolts on the rear of the guards do not need to be removed since they are only attached to a backing plate, and it’s easier to remove the lower guard by turning it upside down in place,,,just make sure you don’t lose the little bushings.

I found it helpful when aligning the lift under the frame to put blocks under the kickstand to stand the bike upright.

2) I used a long box end wrench on the right side of the dog bones wedged against ground or swing arm and a ratcheting box end on the left. Once the left bolt broke free it was easy.

3)I found that placing different sized boards under the rear tire and working the lift height made removing the dog bones and bolts a snap. The bushing on both can move quite a bit and is necessary to clear the frame on the lower bolt ,and the coolant reservoir on the top bolt.

4) Putting the new connectors on is the reverse operation. PLEASE note – the end of the connectors with the round hole goes on the top. This had me scratching my head for a minute since it is not mentioned at all in the instructions. Both connectors need to face the same way and the longer detent faces the front of the bike. I found it easier to put the bolt in at the bottom first and then do the top.

5) I put loctite on the threads and finger tightened the nuts(don’t forget the washers). I ratcheted down the nuts enough to allow just a little play in the connectors. Lowering the jack a bit seated the connector and I then tightened it completely.

6) Put the belt guards back on and set the bike back down on the ground.

The 1 inch drop is not that noticeable in the picture, but I can now plant both feet firmly on the ground wearing flat shoes and I have an inseam of 30 inches. One person can do the job, but 2 would make it much easier. Any questions….just let me know.

So I'm stoked that my PCS lowering links came in today. That was a bit more of a pain to do than I expected. Trying to break the nuts loose to the stock link bolts was ridiculous, but once that part was done, the remainder just took a few minutes really. I've still got my stock 210 tire, and set my links at the 2.25" setting and it looks amazingly better!! I should've jumped on this mod much sooner! :D Thanks to everyone for their input and guides....
Yeah man, I know what you mean. I lower mine 2" and love it. I am waiting for my stock 210 to wear out, so I can go with a 240.
Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

Yea, I'm doing the same..... I had so many other mods I could tend to while waiting for my 210 to wear out then I'll tackle that one too. ;)
Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

OK, so I got to finally get out on my bike after installing my PCS links last night... I've got them at the 2.25" drop setting, ... and it rides awesome and is much more comfortable for me .... but wow ... I'm dragging my pegs everywhere on almost every single corner .... almost excessively. My question is..... can anyone tell me if the PCS forward control extensions noticeably help remedy this?

A 240 or 250 tire will help a little.

****, and I was hoping I would be able to wait until ym stocker rear tire wore out, but with it scraping like this in most turns pretty hard, I may end up having to opt for a new tire much more quickly..... ::)
Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

I'm playing content at 1 inch drop until the tire is worn enough to justify the Pirelli 240,
then down she goes.
Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

I run the 250 with 1.5 drop and I almost never scrape.
Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

I can say that nothing has changed the dynamic of the bike, riding position and balance like this new seat pan I made has. It's a totaly different bike, I love it. The stock seat is ok but the seat should have followed the frame of the bike from the factory, its increadible. I've been riding around with just the pan and no cusion at all, because its not done yet, and its way better than stock just like that. Kinda has a built in back rest.
Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

Sander clause so ur running pcs links down 2" with a 250? no issues? At all? No rubbing? Anything?

I have the low and mean kit, the lowered spring. Drops it around 1.5 inches. I have the dunlop 250 elite 3, and it did not fit in the rear frame with weight on the bike. I had to grind the lower part of the frame. you can read about it in the rearframe/subframe topic. Now all is good, I could drop it 2 or more inches if I wanted.
Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

Learned my lesson on my Warrior about lowering the bike, I scraped on every turn, took'em off and got happy again,...I must admit the Strykers look great lowered, I personally can't ride the way I like here in the mountains of WV, so I'll stay stock height and save the pegs and pipes lol

Yall ride safe!!!
Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

Did the ajustable part of these go up or down ? upper bolt on swingarm or lower bolt on shock?

The PCS links just have 2 different notches on the bottom side of the links .... where the lower shock bolt goes on them.

Thanks I have baron dogbones the ones with 3 holes the directions are horrible trying to fiquire out if the ajustable part goes up or down , there is a arrow pointing to the 3 holes that says front I guess thats up on these?
Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

Clar, the 3 holes go to the bottom and the single to the top, this is so all you have to do is pull the bottom bolt and not touch the top to change height from 1" to 2" with those bones.

Lowering these bikes doesn't seem to do affect them like others. I haven't had an issue with scraping anything. The egonomics of this bike is differnt so the controls don't get in the way as much. At least that's my take on it.

Re: PCS Lowering Connectors

How much more am I going to scrape if I put the PCS dog bones on??? I already am getting close to the rubber on the stock pegs with all the metal I have grinded off so far. My other bike is a canyon carving CBR 1K so maybe that has something to do with why my stryker pegs are grinding down to nothing ;D. Just want to make sure that it won't be any worse going down 2"s and definately not put anything else dragging across the asphault like my exhaust.

If your riding that aggresively to scrape that much now, You mine as well stock up on pegs if you lower the bike, Cause you will be going through them... ;)

Wow ... no kidding. I've still got the stock 210 tire on and before I lowered, I'd occasionally drag pegs around corners,..... but since I've installed my PCS lowering links, (I have them at the 2.25" drop notch) .... I'm now dragging the heck right out of both of my new Kury zombie pegs, plus the stilettos I had on before these. I just ordered my 240 tire last night so if I'm lucky I get it mounted this weekend or beginning of next week and that should help give me just enough additional ground clearance to make me a bit more comfortable going into corners a bit hotter than I get to since the 2" drop. If you have a 240 you might be ok, but if you're on the stocker 210, I'd opt to change out to a 240 or 250 before you lower your bike.
