so i have had my bike for few months now and since the cold weather came around i have put her away but ive been keeping an eye on everyone pictures and mods. all of the ideas and changes are cool and change the bike in different ways, but has anyone thought of changing up the bars ? ive been a huge fan of choppers for a long time and i always see different bars, drags, apes and so on. what do you think about a set of 12-14 inch apes. since our bikes are more like a chopper type look instead of just an avreage cruiser ive been checkin out some apes for my raven and im thinkin it will look sweet. hit me back and let me know if maybe someone has or has een them on our bikes and let me know what you think. thanks.

That welded bar that holds the speedo prevents a straight swap of most after-market bars, so you'll have to deal with that. It certainly can be done by anyone who is a decent welder, but it is still something that will have to be considered.

yea i figured that little bar would have to get fabricated some how. i can figure something with that. it will just take some thinking, but im sure someone will get it done or do it before i save the cash to do it so i can bite off of that. keep bringin the info guys. i really want to get this project movin, thanks for the help.

Not a fan of Ape bars. I just can't see them being comfortable at all. Besides technically they're illegal here.

Same here but it's not my bike. To each his own. I would think apes compromise stability and control.

yea i have seen the bars in JPcycles and im testing the waters. i like the bars that we have i would just like something a little higher and since we dont have risers we have to change the whole thing over to a riser set up so i want to see what the options were. thanks guys.

Aped Raider. Blood doens't drain from your hands if you do your apes to fit you. It actually makes it easier for your hear to pump the blood through your arms because they arn't hanging down or above your shoulders but level with your heart. It's perfectly comfortable. I have carpal tunnel in both wrists and they apes are the only bars i've ever had that my hands didn't get tingly on or just straight up hurt. Plus in my opinion they look kick ass.

oh ya and btw once you get the hang of how to handle the bike with apes the controlability doesn't change (provided you didn't go with some super narrow ones, it's about about leverage). It's still as agile as it ever was.
