I just installed the scootmods 3in forward control extension kit and had a concern regarding the rear brake. The brake seems to work fine, but it takes a good amount more pressure to trigger the brake light compared to receiving the first bit of stopping power.

Has anyone run into a similar issue while working on the forward controls or is this indicative of a more serious issue and should the bike not be ridden in the meantime? Any advice would be appreciated!

No problems here. I did switch to a pressure switch type because I wanted to get rid of the tower/ horn assembly. It sounds like you need to adjust it. Very easy to do!

Out of curiosity, how did you switch to a pressure switch? Is there a specific kit you ordered?

This is what I used simple to install, you will need to add brake fluid too as some leaks out also want to get air out by bleeding after install not hard if your mechanical inclined. I also used a piece of shrink tubing with the glue to keep watertight. Been running it since 2014 no issues!
