Whats the biggest tire I can put on the factory rear wheel with out little or no mods?
cool thanks :thumb:.... i guess the other question would be, is there a front wheel that should go with it...or is the factory one fine?
I changed my front tire to Avon also at same time, but just because I changed both front and rear wheels to Performance Machine Wheels also. No need to change front tire though. I ran the Avon 240 on my stock rear rim with the stock Bridgestone on thr front for 1000 miles or so with no problems. Son has my old Avon 240 on rear of his Stryker now with his stock front Bridgestone and he has no complaints either.
Yep but it only takes a few seconds to do. It will be easy to see If the lower guard is touching the larger tire...if so clearance it slightly with a dremel and you're good to go.You will most likely have to trim the inside of the lower belt guard, I did.
I cut into the guard about 1/4", even with the front of the tire and cut off a 1/4" of the angled portion that rises up also...Yep but it only takes a few seconds to do. Mine does the same. I notice it mostly in 2nd. I have heard that the Stryker is meant to run higher in rpm's.Coming from a Honda 750, Kawasaki 900 Vulcan, and now a new Striker, I notice that in low rpm , the Striker seems to fight itself and want to jerk. Seems like you can't relax in lower gears and have to down shift too often to keep rpms high to eliminate this problem. I love the bike on the highway, lot of power. The problem seems to be at low speed. Is this the nature of the beast, or does the bike have a problem? Thanks Sam

we all love the 240's.why does it seem once a week there is a new thread on 240s....
I got a Metzler 240 & love it. The Avon craze is just the sheep following the sheepWhy are the Avons so popular tho??? I mean I have read countless people saying that they are waiting to get their 240 Avon, bla bla bla Avon, this and that Avon... Bla bla, bla. Lol I got myself a 240 Dunlop for $100 bucks less than what the Avon cost. I need somebody to tell me why Avon, and not some other brand like Dunlop for example!!
