I average around 45 with cobra swepts. Definitely take a closer look at the bike.

Must be the way individuals ride but i do know that before adding pipes, intake and processor I was getting about 42 miles to a gallon and since I am now getting about 36 miles to a gallon. I definately roll on the throttle much harder with each passing day of riding though.

Bozzly in cases like yours I think a slight drop mileage is expected with pipes, intake, and fuel processor. On the flip side of things a 15-20MPG drop from just drilling the factory exhaust?!? No way is that right.

Are you accounting for the time you spend setting in your driveway revving it up now that it sounds better ::)
I have 9- 1/2" holes in each pipe and the only time I get below 38 mpg or near 30 mpg is when I race up and down this mountain in 2nd and 3rd gear.

This is exactly how my situation is with the changes.

Three weeks ago when I first got my bike, I noticed I was only getting about 33 mpg - I ride through traffic mostly - back and forth to work and there are a lot of stoplights.

After drilling my exhaust (4 holes each 1/2"), my mileage improved slightly and now I get around 38 mpg.

So mine improved (but I also just finished my break in during this time, now @ 1100 miles).

But I don't understand why some people are getting 40+ mpg - is it mostly highway riding for you guys?

I ride mostly city except for the weekends, but even then it takes me 30 minutes to get away from traffic.

Ya it's the in town travel. Same with me when you cant get out of 3rd gear -30 mpg but open HWY 40+ and even close to 50 mpg. If we were to go by hpg (engine running time) rather than mpg I bet it would be closer to the same all the time.

I'm not sure how all this converts to litres and kilometers and how my bike compares but I do know that of the three bikes I ride the Stryker is the most economical. I'm getting around 19-20 km per litre. I drilled my pipes right after getting the bike so I don't know how that affected consumption but did notice that things improved slowly as more kilo's built up which is likely to the motor loosening up. Unfortunately the price of fuel is getting so high that we will have to start shortening our weekend rides. Still lots to me thankful for. Regards from Durban RSA.

Exactly that. Same mods, averaging about 35ish mpg. And I very rarely hit the throttle for fun.
