I have mine completely removed and I love the sound of it! I did not do it myself though. My local yamaha dealership did it for me.
they didn't whine about warranty? How much did that cost and do you see any performance differences?
Dealer is the one who recommended removing them completely for sound! I paid 100 bucks, money well spent after trying to drill out my friends Raider baffles unsuccessfully! And yes, I did notice a slight performance different for the worse but once I got my fuelpak it changed for the better! I don't know if it is the combination I have but performance is way better than stock for me now. Combination includes; hyper charger, v&h fuelpak, and stock exhaust with baffles completely removed.

Hope this helps!

Very true guys I called my dealer and they said they won't do it because of emission stuff. Big fine for th blah blah blah. I think i'm going to try drilling the baffles. First. And keep adding holes until i'm happy. And I figure out how to completely take m out I will.

keep in mind that back pressure affects performance so if you remove all the baffles you're gonna lose performance
Very true and yes you do loose performance once its done but I am very happy with the way my bike performs and I am almost always two up and I do not have problems keeping up with my buddy on his Raider while he is riding single. His bike is stock and I am right there with him! He also has his baffles completely removed if that makes any difference on this topic! Good luck and keep us posted!

I had seen for doing my honda that it's about the same as the raider but to remove the center pipe you use a wooden dowel, or anything else that fits then just force the pipe around in circles to break wields. Any one know if the process is the same for the Yamahas?

So I drilled en out just 4 holes each pipe at 12 3 6 and 9 sounds........louder not better and not worse just louder. We will see when I can actually get it out on the road I like .
I started with 4 then went to 8, I didn't really notice a difference IMHO 4 is good 8 is a waste of time

I wonder if 'back pressure' is just for the Stryker ... I have removed my baffles and my two other Raider friends think my Raider has a step on them.

Probably right, but remember you still have the biggest obstacle involved, that being your Catalytic Convertor.
