[Blacked out 2011]

Sorry all not sure if there is a thread on this yet for these exact pipes...was wondering if anyone has removed the baffles in the cobra swept pipes and how hard it is and what the difference in the sound is? I love my pipes but as anyone would I want then a little louder. Any inputs? Also running cobra big air kit and cobra fuel tuner as well. Thanks!

Yea I thought I seen the thread before but can't find it either. An Alan wrench that's it? Hmm can this be done while the pipes are on the bike or do they need to be removed?

There is a torx screw on the outside of the pipe, between the tire and the pipe....remove that screw.... Then get a piece of metal and make a hook....push it in the pipe, get it in a hole, and pull it out. I had some "Z" type looking piece of metal, that I pushed into the pipe, got in a hole, and smacked out with a hammer. You can honestly have both baffles out in 10 minutes.

It is loud IMO (well it WAS loud, now I am used to it) It does sound like **** when you let off the throttle though (like coasting down a hill or something) a lot of backfire/popping but it is what it is

I like the popping on decel....it's like "Yeah, I'm here on my bada$$ Stryker!!

Sometimes on a hard decel you'd swear I shot someone. I'll probably get sued someday for given someone a heart attack

I recently took mine out as well. But I had a problem with one of the hex screws stripping on me. So I ended up removing the pipes and drilling out the screw.

When I removed them I took a floor jack handle stuck up inside. Took some vice grips and set them on the handle and took a hammer to the vice grips. Only took a few mins and I was baffle free.

Sounds great I can even hear the exhaust over my ear buds now. Just need to find something to plug the empty holes now.

Just finished. WHOA it's loud. Doesn't decel pop, probably because of my fuel tuner. But it's wicked loud. Not sure how the cops will like this lol

yup!! My lady hated my VnH staggered without baffles.. she really disliked it to the point that I just put them back in. "it sounds too dirty" "it's too loud in my helmet".

Any worry about loss of power due to loss of backpressure? At the end of the day I am funtion over form.

I noticed some loss...I did the autotuner about a week before I removed the baffles, and I loved the new power, no bogging...but once I took the baffles out, it was right back to where it was before....eh well

Yes I noticed a little hesitation..nothing dramatic though but I haven't messed with my fuel tuner after the baffle removal yet so when I get a chance I will.

Haha! On the other hand my girl likes it louder...until she has a couple drinks in her and her head is pounding then she won't like it as well!

I'm looking to install a set of baffles in the cobra swept pipes. I just bought this bike and would like to quiet it down a little. Anyone have a set that are not damaged they would like to sell?

I bet if you saw it at night you might see something :biggrin1: Could set up something like in the old hot rods where it's like an after burner affect...that would be cool. It would beat any LED effects :thumb:
