Hey everyone. Just joined the site from Ohio. I'm just researching the Stryker. My fiancée and I were looking at them in the local Yamaha dealer and we really liked them. She thought it was comfortable, and I thought "Wow, these could look cool with a some nice mods." lol

I currently ride a Honda 929RR and am considering selling it and switching to something a little more two up friendly, but still nice looking and fun. I've owned a slew of motorcycles from cruisers/bobbers to race bikes. Looking forward to learning more about the Stryker and hopefully picking one up in the future.

You will not be disappointed if you buy this bike, it is no crotch rocket, but still fun to ride, my wife loves riding on the back. My last bike was chain driven, and both of us can really tell the difference of the belt drive, very smooth, very comfortable.

You can't go wrong with a Stryker, or Raider. It sounds like you have a lot of experience riding. Do yourself a favor and test ride a Raider before you make up your mind. You may be suprised how well they handle, and the low center of gravity.

A guy I work with has a Raider, it's a really nice bike. I can't bring myself to pay that much for a bike though. lol Also, I'm not an overly large guy, so the Stryker seems to fit me better. Although, I'm sure I'd prefer the power of the Raider.

Anyway, thanks for all of the Welcomes.

Being a Raider owner I have to go with Redstar... Check out the Raider. It handles as well as the Stryker even with the extra 100 lbs and has a little more power. If it's not to your liking, go with the Stryker. Either way you're not going to be disappointed.

We have last year's new Raiders and used Raiders with VERY low miles at my dealer for only about $1000 over the price of the Stryker and there's no additional charges (freight & prep) on the used ones, so they're probably about the same. Granted if you buy a new Raider the price jumps a bit. I paid $12,100 total out the door for my Raider in March '09 and now the sticker on the new ones is $14,500 (not counting tax, title, license, prep, freight, etc.). Unbelievable.

Besides the colors on the previous year Raiders are much better than the 2011 versions. You can't even get one in solid black that I'm aware of and I just don't get that burnt orange color. What the **** happened to red?

Go for a test ride!! Best advice I can tell you. A few years back, I started my research about 3 months before I was going to be able to afford a new bike. So I could get a lot of bikes looked at, before I could buy. I test rode several, and when I hopped on a Raider, I knew I had found the bike for me! Go test ride some bikes Brother, before your search gets more serious. I bet you will come back to the Raider or Stryker, these bikes are the best by far!! Go test ride the rest, then come back for the best!!
