I've been trying to figure out the options, too. I'd like to put my fists about 4 inches higher in the air, and come back closer to the seat, letting me lean back a little more. Hopefully some of these semi-professional modification engineers can help out!!

As soon as work lets up I plan on trying to build a set of bars that maximize the stock cable lengths. Up back, and out a little, looking for a cool design to start with. I'll probably do more than one set to try different styles. If you see cool designs post them up!

Just tried to install the Rivco risers for the VTX1300 and the studs are different diam. to fit through the holes and to long to fit through the riser. If you drill out the holes and cut the studs you would still have to move all the cables to the inside of the upper tree. And still not sure the bars would not hit the tank. I wasn't quite ready to get into that at this time.

I'm new tho this type of ride and have never taken a good look at the bars, but could you not just fashion a spacer to raise them up 1-2". Since the whole triple is on an angle, raising them would automatically bring them back towards you as well although not much.

Looking at the manual now, it doesn't say much and the diagram shows the studs but doesn't say if they are removable. Is this a 1 peice unit? Most likely eh? I say if it bothers you that much, just buy a new set for $200. Cheaper than a new $700 seat

Yep, they are one piece. Stud is just long enough to put the acorn nut on. Tried a half in spacer also but the stud never came through.

I'm trying to get my bars up and away from me you think the rivco risers would work if u face them away from the tank? Would the cables reach? That way all im getting is vertical lift and no pull back... Just a question I really don't want to buy new bars to go higher if I don't need to.
