so the Cobra Fi2000 PowrPro is on b/o until the end of the month. The pipes i want *Cobra Speedster Slashdown's* will be in long before my fuel tuner is. My question is...can i run the exhaust w/o the tuner since my air box is stock? I think it should be fine.

you'll be fine it will pop alittle on deceleration I would keep the baffles in also if you planned on taking them out until you get the powerpro

I'm in the same boat after installing my slashdowns. I have less than 50 miles on it with the new pipes and they are dark blue coming out of the head under the heat shields already. The discoloring doesnt worry me as its only cosmetic and hidden, but I wonder about doing any harm to the engine. I plan to just ride it sparingly until my tuner comes in. I also might add that at times it hesitates a bit which makes me wonder about running lean.

rich or lean the pipes will more than likely change color at the heads I've heard its normal for cobra chrome pipes

Normal have some bluing on my V&H with the programmer installed, if you have a lot of popping on decell then you have a lean issue.

It pops a bit, but nothing excessive, its more like a few grumbles as I slow down. The temperature and humidity have been changing pretty drastically around here the past few days as well, so I wonder if the FI is just having trouble compensating for that and the new exhaust. The hesitation I mentioned is akin to a carbed engine before its warmed up, and it only did it one day after a storm cooled things off.
