I have had my 2011 Stryker for almost 2 yrs...... I ride as much as possible and in the last few months haven't parked it till yesterday when I blew my knee out. I was riding with a friend the other day and noticed my Throttle become hard to twist and sticking..... I thought there was dirt in there and needed cleaning out and lubing..... Much to my surprise it was rusted. Rusted so badly in fact that there is a hole in the bar under the grip!!!! Has anyone ever had this problem? I am setting it up with Yamaha to get it repaired but just wondering.

Do you have the stock handgrips or aftermarket? I have heard of this happening before when people have changed the grips. They managed to trap moisture and it ended up rusting. Idk of any strykers having this issue though.

I did change the grips but it was during the summer and during the day..... The bars where dry and I cleaned them according to the manual to prevent rusting. I dont have a garage so my bike stays outside but when Im not riding it, i have it covered. The rust is worse than I expect from a bare metal in direct weather all the time.

could be wrong about this but i'm inclined to beleive that water may have seeped under your grips, maybe form riding in the rain. this is more likely to happen when OEM grips are replaced as stryker tony said. seen it happen of a few of my cousins dirt bikes
