And thats why I left town for the HD 110 to go to Iowa.
Yeah when the Redwood Run happens up here, we actually ride out and leave the area. It is just insufferable to be in my local grocery store, MY store, MY town, and have to put up with the 'tude.
I am sure these folks are normally very nice people in their own home town, and we have met a lot of cool harley riders. However when they come to Garberville, for the Redwood Run, something seems to happen to them. Perhaps they go thru a worm hole or something lol but they become completely different people and basically behave just terribly at times. A lot of the businesses have started closing on the weekend the run happens, same as they do when Reggae on the River happens.
I have heard from business owners that the possible sales is not worth the hassle of putting up with people who show little respect for the town, the space, and the folks who live here full time.
The RR 2 years ago was pretty cool, lots of really cool custom bikes. This year, very vanilla... lots of shiny stock harleys right off the showroom floor and usually backed out of a trailer once it arrives at the festival spot lol
