I have kept my eye out for a forward controls kit for a while now, and recently learned that ScootMods was in the process of making one. They stated that their kit would not require moving or replacing the brake line, which was a big factor in my purchase. I spoke with them over the phone and via pm's, and they were friendly and kept me up to date on their progress. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and the kit was ready and is finally here. Upon opening the box I found each part meticulously wrapped in bubble wrap and packed well enough that nothing could move or get scratched up. There was also a full page of step by step instructions that were easy enough for me to follow. I laid the parts out to inspect them and snapped a few pictures of the kit. I also learned that photography is not my strong point lol.

Everything looked good and the finish was nice.

A couple more from a different angle.

Here are some before and after pictures

Notice in the after picture the master cylinder is still in its original position.

And finally an overall shot of both sides.

I am very satisfied with this kit, and am really enjoying how much more comfortable this made my ride.

Basically the same bike.
It still costs less than the PCS set, and you don't need to touch the brake lines. I'm 6'4", so I will definitely be making this purchase in the spring.
Scootmods... I am extremely interested in these extensions... BUT...Why are they over twice the price of ANY other peg extensions you sell???

:( more than double the price?
Are you talking about the 2" extensions.....

Can't we just get the 4" extensions for the 1300 for $45?

I thought that's what rodekill got. I was ready to pull the trigger on these

I was told by Scootmods that they only have 3" extensions for the STRYKER. They now have them on their website...$119.99!!
It's a completely different kit than the V-Star 1300.

The price is based on several different factors, but the most crucial factors are time spent in development and the quality of the components.

Ok - for the slightly less intelligent - The forward controls are a separate kit from the actual shifter? I.e. - you purchased the forward control kit and then a set of controls???

I really like your setup - just trying to figure out exactly what to buy :) and how would they work with floor boards??

The kit moves the footpeg assembly forward about 3" so you can stretch your legs out a bit more. Everything you need comes with the kit. Its a much more comfortable riding position depending on the length of your legs of course.

Thats a great price & that is 3" forward correct?
3" Forward. The kit will work with any pegs or floorboards that work with the stock controls.

Can they be made to be 2" instead? For us height challenged types.
We do not have a plan for a shorter kit, if we get enough request it might happen down the road.
I can reach the 3" kit with about a 29.5" inseam.
Thanks
Joe

Interested but I am also vertically challenged :)
marking this for future reference ... I just wanna kick my feet forward a little, don't ya' know!
I contacted Scootmods via email had the parts ordered and on my doorstep in about 4 days one of which doesn't count cause it was a Sunday. The parts are well made and seem to be well built. I installed them in about 45 mins and that was taking my time and having to search for tools. The riding position didn't look, from sitting on the bike to be changed much but you can defiantly feel the difference. I am more than pleased with the product and with the customer service and forum support from Scootmods. I lowered my bike and was scraping all too easy, this will take care of that problem.

Does the install require any special tools??
