Could you link examples of what you use or do you have pictures of your setup? Im not too tech savvy.

Hey guys,

Was wondering what's the best set up to get to charge devices like a cell phone or gps? Also mount vs. tankbag to hold devices?
Funny you should ask this now... I'm actually waiting for delivery of my mounting and charging solution.

I ordered one of these from Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/ikross-Weather-Generation-Verizon-Version/dp/B009SS31S8

And one of these from eBay:

I'm seriously OCD about the types of accessories I purchase and use, so I didn't a ridiculous amount of research before deciding on these. The 12v power port will mount directly on the handle bar and stay out of the way, I think. And the iPhone case is weatherproof and low profile. I didn't want anything that really stood up too tall. There are a lot of good options to hold your device, but few that are going to be water tight, if you get caught in the rain. And I wasn't looking for a whole new case to have my phone in all the time. This allows you to snap the phone into place, and even remove the whole case when you don't need it on the bike.

I'll post pictures as soon as I get them installed.

I added a 12v power port to the neck and put a low prifle dual usb adapter in. The plug is weather resistant and has a cover that I put a skull medallion on. My total cost $9 you can kinda see it here.

You also just answered my question as to whether or not the black RAD III mirrors would look ok with the chrome bars on the 2012 Raven Stryker. ;-)

Just did this today. I wanted it to be as inconspicuous as possible while still being accessible from the front of the bike. I bought a cig adapter and trailer wires (SAE) from a local pep boys auto store. Spliced them together and fed the wires under the tank to below the seat where I have a battery tender hookup (SAE). Cost around $15. It's not mounted but won't be moving anywhere. Might end up attaching it with Velcro. If I could go back I would have bought the $30 USB to SAE adapter from burnsmoto, but this will do for now.

i also have a battery tender cigarette lighter running to underneath the speedo . . . from there I have the iPhone cable to my iPhone holder. The lighter is weatherproof, but while in use, I thought it was a good idea to have it protected under the speedo. Plenty of room to tuck it in there.

Hope it gives you some ideas (picture on the link below).

Peace! :):):)

I'm planning to add this usb/power outlet made by Shark and a RAM mount for my TomTom GPS. Both can be found on Amazon. When it comes to the gps, I prefer a mount that raises it somewhat higher so I can see the screen without having to look downward too much. But they make all sorts of styles.

That's a good idea. I wasn't able to see it from that pic, do you have any others?

I used THIS one and wired it to the headlight wiring with help from the forum.
It sits on the crossbar under the speedo, out of the weather.
Do you have any pictures of yours? Sounds like a good spot.

I'll have to take some pics of that and a few other mods I've made recently.
You really have to bend over level with the clutch lever to see it at all.

I thought about just putting a typical cigarette lighter type charger port on the bike but then most things I want to charge with it (Or run, like my GPS) would require another adapter.
PLUS, the cigarette type chargers are HUGE! try to find a place to hide that thing away!!!
If I went with that type I would have found a way to mount it in the triangular opening at the head of the frame, forward and below the tank.
I prefer not seeing it though!
