i re located my after market blinkers onto the rear fender from where they were last year. i hooked them up last night and when the left blinks bright.. the right comes on dim. then when the left blinks bright, the right blinks dim. i pulled 1 harness @ a time back to the connection by the battery- it seems to be consistent. any suggestions?

Agree with the ground problem, you might check the bulb first. I have had filaments burn and fuse to the bulb base creating similar issues.
do you have any pics of the relocated lights? It's something I was considering.

i think i found it. the signals are shorting to ground through the stud they are mounted on. they were fine when i had them located in plastic, but now that i drilled my fender and mounted them there... they are shorting out.

Maybe you could use one of those electrical rubber grommets? You'd probably have to make the mounting hole a little bigger though so best to be sure before drilling. Might need a black plastic washer to isolate the nut from the fender as it is tightened down.
Post pics when done :)
