Hey ya'll,
I'm looking into getting a relatively cheap and easy to install and take off sissy bar for the occassional rider. I generaly ride by myself, but it would be nice for the random back seat rider. Plus i'm also planning on ridding from Jacksonville to the keys for my birthday if the weather is good enough next month and would like something to strap a bag to. if you have any sugestions I'd appreciate it. I've been trying to sort through them but none of them actually say how hard/easy they are to remove, and thento compair them to the price.

Thank you

Hey abacon, look at the Kuryakyn grand tour bag, no sissy bar necessary and doubles as a backrest, less than $200 and you can easily pack a week's worth of crap in it, I took mine on a 4 day ride a few months bag and loved it

I've also got the Kuryakyn grand tour bag and love it. If you're going solo, you can strap it to the back seat and it doubles as a backrest. I have the short backrest with the luggage rack, so if my wife and I are on a longer trip it straps to the luggage rack.

How sturdy is this bag without a backrest?

Super sturdy, I go 280 and I practically lay on mine, plenty of cushion but holds its shape even when empty, I got back from my trip and rode around for about 2 weeks before I took it back off(wife said I looked like a dork)

Awesome, thanks for the info. The one that was being discussed in the previous link was almost $250, which was a little more than I wanted to spend on something I'd seldomly use. Under $200 is perfect! I'd love to take a nice month long ride, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I figure the 500 miles from Jax to the keys is a good start for me and this would help so i don't have a back pack strapped to my back the whole way.

Thanks again.

I like the idea that these bags can be used without a backrest.

No, I loaned mine to my brother in law who is on a cross country ride to Vegas, should have it back in a few weeks and I'll slap it on and take a pic, I think it looks great on there and the mounting options are aweaome

I went to the dealer that I bought my bike from with the best price I found on the internet - they beat the price by 10% and ate the shipping. It had to be a product that their suppliers carry, but it's worth a shot.
