I going to build some more bars in very small runs. The first will be simular to the stock bars, like the prototype set I've allready posted. I plan on building them to each riders preferance. Going to start a set or two this weekend to get things going and get pricing pinned down. If you are thinking of taller bars with more pullback, but not sure how much, I'm thinking of sending out the prototype set to let people see if they like it before stepping up to having a set made. I will have to figure out the details on this?
Please keep this thread handlebar oriented as it gets too confusing with everything mixed in.
I'm also open to making one off bars if you have a different design in mind.

I've been looking for a way to get a couple more inches pull back. I was going to make some risers with the help of a machinist from from work, but they switched our shifts around so I haven't been able to.

Anyhow, put me on the list of interested. Are you doing any in black?

There are risers out there that could be made to work by using a shoulderd bolt, or bolt and spacer from underneath. But then you need new bars anyway, and there aren't any out there that the speedo fits on? My plan is to have these be direct bolt on's bar ends threaded for stock plugs, a speedo mt. and either holes for the factory wiring clips, or a pull string to run wires inside? The only issue might be cable and brakeline length depending on how there built?

Yeah, I was going to try to make some riser extensions that work with the stock bars on the lathe at work, but the guy who was teaching me how to use it in our spare time got moved to another shift. And I'm frankly scared to turn the **** thing on without someone who knows how to use it in the room.

Oh well, probably wouldn't have put the bars where I wanted anyway.

I want some bars on my bike yesterday. With 3-4" more pullback, and as little as possible other changes. If a guy could still turn and fuel up with that setup, anyhow...

How do you want to be paid? Pesos? Peanuts? Gold bars? Personal cheque?

Mentat, PM sent.

I'll be starting my new bars this weekend. I'll post up pics as I go. I'm looking for two test subjects to get others going, and to test the durability of steel vs Chro-moly. If your interested in a set please PM me and we'll work out the details.

This is the first set. I'll be trying out different styles as well.

Those are a pretty cool way to raise your bars if they used a bolt comming up from the bottom. Our bikes have a threaded stud going down into the tripple tree. There's only enough room to put maybe a thick washer under our bars, and you'd have less thread engaugment? I'll have to look and see how hard it would be to modify the stock bars to work with something like this, it may be a cheaper solution for alot of people?

thanks straightjacket fyi this comes in 2 sizes 1.5 inches and 1 inch. I'm looking at 1.5 to 2you inch raise so if the 1.5 works i guess that's all i would need. I appreciate your input

What I was thinking of doing is making a spacer about 1.5 or 2" long and threading the inside to screw onto the stud on the bars, then thread a peice of allthread into the other end cut to length.

I didn't get any measurements to see if it would work at all, don't know if it would be very sturdy.

But now I'm just going to buy some bars from SJ and actually put the bars where I want them.

Alright, been a little while but here we go. I have two guniea pigs to work with and another set for me. These are pics from the start of the new gen of bars. These will be finished with threads for the factory bar ends, and the fronts closed off into scallops, or pointed? These will also be threaded to accept risers if wanted, it also allows for the use of grade 8 bolts for mounting. More pics to come.

On the factory bars,, I'll sacrifice mine and cut them open to see if they can be threaded for risers? I'll post up on that later.

Ive been waiting on some special taps and drills to make all of the plugs its killing my time frame! They say the devils in the details, now I know what they mean! Most of the machining has been done, it takes the most time. Have to start coping the pipe now it should go pretty fast. While I was waiting I started a fixture to bolt everything to to weld on instead of my bike. Here's one more teaser the next will be tacked bars!
