I'm only adding the slip-on at this time since this bike is literally twice the motor of what I was riding (V-Star Custom 650). Do I need to add a tuner or will it work fine? Not really looking for performance at this time just want more sound until I get used to the bigger bike.

No tuner needed at all as far as I am concerned. Others say if you just add pipes, no tuner. Then add airbox, then yes.

For more sound, we just drilled 4 holes in each baffle, 1/2 inch diameter. My bike doesn't growl quite like toby's but you can hear her voice a little better now =) much less expensive then a change of pipes...

I'm running the slip on with and without baffles. No need for a tune unless you're just super picky. It's has a little decel pop but nothing too bad.

I'm getting a ton of popping and some backfires on decel. I think the popping is cool, but sometimes the backfires do startle me haha.

So far mine sounds good. Really like the low thumpy sound at cruising speed. The bark on hard accel & decel sounds great too.

Yeah, I like the way mine sounds as well. I haven't heard any other full exhaust systems in person, but I can't imagine they're that much better than the slip on for anywhere between $500-$800 more.

Try this..............makes sound a little deeper and calms the backfire.
