Sorry for the long title. First off, I fell in love with the stryker the moment I sat on it in the showroom floor, and after rearranging my funds, I'm looking to purchase my 2012 model this friday. It's a completely stock, so my question is as follows. As a guy that's 6' 4", 240 lbs., what modifications should I make to make the ride a lot more comfortable? I live in New York City, so there will be a ton of city riding while commuting to work, along with hopefully frequent trips out on the highway during the weekends. I also want to stick with an all black theme. Also, I do have a lady that enjoys riding in the back, so sissy bar recommendations please. Any advice is welcome

Scoot mods 3" extension. This will move the pegs forward 3" and makes the bike feel better. I am only 6', and they made a ton of difference for me. I have the Star short quick release back rest. The design of it is really nice, andf I think is flows well with the bike. My girlfriend likes it fine. I think the short one looks better than the tall one. Some guys on here have said that their ladoes prefer the tall one. I suppose it deplends on your lady.

Agree with Boolshot. I had both backrests for a little while. The short backrest looks better and easier to throw your leg over but as the driver the decision was solely on my wife and daughter to choose. They went with the tall. Not so much because there was a comfort difference but they felt more secure with the tall one.

Welcome from Nebraska.

My wife prefers the tall backrest - she feels more secured in the saddle. Either one you get, be sure to get the quick-release version. It is awfully nice to have it removable with the twist of the key!

The Scoot mods 3" extension sounds like a must for you. Alternatively (or additionally), you could hold off for the new engine guard / highway bar from Linby - you could mount highway pegs on that for a different stretch of the legs for the longer rides. BOOLSHOT already has one of these bars already - the FIRST one actually (lucky b4stard!).

3" forward extensions and Parts Unlimited low seat. Wide Parts unlimited passenger seat and tall quick release backrest with wide mustang backrest pad. Also front and rear fllorboards. I have been many other routes with seats, backrests, and pads and this is what finally worked the best for my lady and I. She is only 5'6" and 125 lbs, but a happy wife is happy life!

If your 6'4" you should really be looking at the HD 883........:first:

Just kidding. If you get the Low and Mean seat and the extentions, I think you could almost be 7' and ride it.
Haha, my roommate has a '97 HD 883. I sat on that thing and had to quote zoolander "what is this, a motorcycle for ants?" he said i looked like a circus bear on a moped

Hi everyone. BOOLSHOT I found the Lindby bars but don't see a set for Styker or in black. Which set did you find that fit?

I'm 6'2 and I'm fine around town but on the road trips I need to stretch. Haven't liked any of the the engine gaurds I've seen so I have waited for Lindby bars but on my last bike I put Kuryakin Long Horns on and they were perfect

What bike did you order Linby bars for? I just got email from them and they are just now creating guard for Stryker. I also asked them if the new one they are designing will accomodate scootmods.
BOOLSHOT did not order a different one for his bike - his is the one that is coming out soon for the Stryker. They used BOOLSHOT's bike to fabricate the FIRST ONE FOR THE STRYKER. He has the first one currently on his bike - serial #00000001.01 ;)

They are in the process of getting the specs ready for retail sales.

Thanks Axorr. Linby mentioned someone loaned them a bike but didn't connect the dots!!
For those that are looking for a little more stretch room, you might want to look at the Kury swingwings. I have them on my bike and they do help. I also have the scootmods so they do fit. Only problem is you have to have them swung out prior to taking off because you have to hold a button down to disengage from closed/open position.

I am 6'5". I have the scootmods, Kury swingwings. I just returned the Mustang seat. Felt like I was sitting on the gas tank. Lost most of what I gained with the scootmods.
I ordered the Parts Umlimited 2up Predator. I hope that helps the riding position and also adresses the back problems I get with the stock seat. (Those did go away with the Mustang short time I tried it.) My wife doesn't ride but want the passenger pad just in case. I do have the short backrest/rack that I use for luggage, etc.
I hope I have the same luck as you, 11Stryker!!

They will work with Scootmods. I have Scootmods on my bike. When I loaned them my bike to design the Lindbar for them, I told them it would be best to make them work with the Scootmods. They listened. I put up pictures showing the mounting. Search Lindbar, and you should find them.
