I have about 2500 miles on my 2012 Stryker and I have observed the following:

-After riding for a few minutes and the bike comes up to temperature there seems to be a lot of noise coming from the front pulley area. I am not sure if this is normal break in as I don't recall hearing it before. Most pronounced when sitting still at idle.

-When the engine is running at idle I hear what sounds like a tinning sound coming from somewhere in the upper engine area. I always ride with a full face helmet but after changing the oil this weekend I took it around the block and noticed the sound.

I was having hard shifting previously but it seems that the oil change has corrected for that (from what I was reading probably was a little low on oil).

Are any of these cause for concern or part of the normal bike break in? I have heard that Yamaha's do get noisy as time go on.

I also have a tinning sound coming from the upper engine and I am pretty sure that I read that it is common. As for the pully sound I haven't heard any noise coming from that area. If you are worried about it you could always call up Yamaha and ask them.

If you haven't yet, and you can, take your bike to a trustworthy bike shop and have them go thru it and check all of the bolts, nuts and fasteners. Things loosen up from vibration. Also, have your belt tension checked. If you haven't done this since you bought it, the drive belt might be loose.
Your radiator fan will make a whining noise when it is on, and if you ride slow, it will come on a lot as it cools the engine.
It took toby a couple of times of being stopped and hearing the fan before he realized, it was the fan lol Remember, this is a liquid cooled engine and that fan WILL run and it makes noise.
be sure you use regulation motorcycle oil developed for wet clutch systems. refer to your owners manual for guidelines.
