Re: Spiked Forks!

Oooh, bummer! They came in looking sooo good, unfortunately one of the threads was not cut deep enough, so it wouldn't thread in, and the Dia.was 40mm, not 41mm. I dont trust clamping my top clamp down that tight, so back they go. They are great people to deal with, and the quality looks great, just a little off on the second set. I was so excited to try them out?

Re: Spiked Forks!

Well, the new set came in and they fit perfect! What happend was someone sent in a fork cap and said make'm fit this. Well the cap is smaller than the fork soo his are under sized because they were doing it from the cap! I measured everything out, drew up a set o plans(rough) and sent them back with the first set. They now have the right diemensions to make more if anyone else is interested?

I dont have time to get the brake line before the ride this weekend, but I'll try to get pics of it at ride height.

Re: Spiked Forks!

Definitely interested depending on price. I want to do something to clean up my forks. I wouldn't want something that long though since my forks already stick up from the triple tree about 2" (lowered the front to match the lowered rear).

Re: Spiked Forks!

Klarowe - they can make them just as caps with no rise. If you lowered your front and like it you can take off the top cap and cut down the spacer thats under it, then you can put the forks back to normal in the clamps and still be lowered. ;)

Well.it's a bit complicated....ok we get the wider tire for a more secure feeling in turns and it doesn't feel as wishy washy.
We lower the rear and it adds to the secure feeling of the wide tire......but we end up scraping pipes or frame. The extensions
further enhance the secure feeling by lifting the bike a bit....now you can literally throw this bike into turns and it won't scrape as it did before. The geometry is changed to handle better.

I know everyone believes wider tires and extended forks make for poor handling but with this type of bike.....not true at all.
