I was looking for more options for rear tires for the Stryker and found that sport and racing tire category has more options for the 240/40/18 for about the same price. So thought I'd throw the subject out there and get some feedback from some of you guys that now a little about racing tires and what the composition is made of compared to cruiser/tourer tires and and how they would perform on our bikes being heavier as far as mileage etc. As you now if you have followed my threads about my problem with tires where I ride I am looking fore options. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I really don't think the type of tires will make any difference with the type of roads and the stress you put on them. Your just going have to live with the fact that you'll be changing your tires often. Then again you could carry your bike till you get to the normal type roads and then ride from there. ;D Pulling your load would also help.

with the roads and conditions you ride on Toby i would recommend an offroad truck tire for you
love you guys sense of humor. But I have been looking into car tires.
A couple guys on the 1300 forum swear by Bridgestone , I forget what tire it was but they had pics. My concerns were if they would fit the Stryker and if a flat surfaced car tire would do well on corners. They said they corner just as good or better than MC tires but I don't think they have a clue what I'm talking about when I say cornering.

Yep that's about it. lol. I have been thinking maybe I should put them on a buggy and hook them up to my horses and haul the down the hill before we get on them. lol.

sport bike tires are softer and higher speed rated example z rated they would handle better but you'd get alot less mileage on them they are also weight rated as well the heavier cruiser would cause them to wear even faster.

Found the thread on the 1300 V Star forum where the guy is using car tires. Got to find out if the Stryker could handle that and how it would corner? http://www.thefroginator.co.uk/fm-pix/albums/userpics/2012 darkside tire2.JPG

That doesn't look like a good idea at all. that tire is not designed to ride on the side wall like motorcycle tires are. I have a buddy that has a car tire on his goldwing but it looks more like a motorcycle tire its alot more rounded than that one is

That's why I'm trying to find out how they corner. Because the guy that has that tire tried to tell me it corners better?? But like I said I don't think he has any idea what kind of cornering I do up in these hills. I'm literally on the sides of the tires 99% of the time. But if I could find one that was more round i would research it and test it.

he maybe able to corner ok with the tire but when it breaks a belt in the tire while corning then he's done for just my opinion. Theres not alot of good curves around where I live I have some pretty nice chicken strips on my tires :D
