Just joined STAR today, and submitted my membership for Worcester, Ma. Chapter 291.

Was wondering who else on the forum is a STAR member, and could there be a thread dedicated for this. (for info..pics..etc)

I am the VP of Chapter 508 in Blakeslee PA. I believe there are quite a few members that belong to Chapters here. We always have a great time together on our rides and I have met a lot of good people through our Chapter activities. Enjoy, it's a lot of fun.

I may be riding out to Carlisle for the 'Vette show...depending on the weather. Hopefully I'll get my butt-crack solo seat before then :)

Yes! It's in my Signature line. Stryker29, XVS13, Visionary, and Female Stryker. Us and others in the Elmira NY area have our own chapter.

Got all sorts of email gobbledy-**** from the internatioanl...haven't heard from Chapter 291 :(
If you haven't done so already i would contact the Chapter directly and not through Star International as they are slow as Molasses. The Chapters are full of good people and they are a lot of fun but Star International itself is a big Waste of time and money. Not sure what those people actually do. Been waiting for a few months for them to even publish our website link. They don't seem to be able to walk, talk and chew gum at the same time.

Actually, the first thing I did was fill out the application for the chapter...THEN I joined STAR...figuring they might want a STAR membership first....eh for $48.00 it doesn't really matter. I could have joined either the SouthWestern Ma chapter, or the Worcester (Worcester is in the middle of the state and closer to me...Southwestern is---well,...in the SouthWestern part )

I didn't really look as the Worcester chapter stated they do rides every weekend, and that's what I was hoping to get into. Maybe I just need to be patient.

Star Touring actually sponcers feed The Children. Our chapter (421) happens to be the biggest fund raiser in GA for what I was just told. How it works is this. Your chapter raises at least $3,000.00 dollars for the year. Then Yamaha doubles it and you get a simi full of individual pre boxed food for a family of four for a week and water too. The pre arranged simi goes to a place of needy people that your chapter picks out and the needy get a coupon each. Your chapter and some times other chapters help hand out the food and water. Its a very enlighting feeling when you do this. So The Star touring does a needed thing in communities.I tell people when they see our patches after they ask what we do. I just say, We Feed The Children, We Don't Scare Them like other so called biker clubs!:thumb:

Just figured I would update this, then it can get buried again :)

After I paid the $48.00 for a STAR membership, 2 week later I get the mailer from Yamaha that they purchased the "congratulatory" year of membership to STAR. So I emailed the international, and asked them if they would consider extending my membership to 2015 in light of the "thank you" membership for buying my Stryker...which they did!:thumb:

As far as Chapter 291 in Worcester. I cannot contact them through their website itself...it says I don't have permission. So I got the email of the chapter president, and emailed him twice, and still haven't heard. Maybe they are now defunct??? So I'm going to try the Hartford, Ct chapter and see if I have better luck there. It's a little farther, but too bad (it would be like a jaunt to the end of the driveway for someone like Toby :biggrin1:) I'm usually a lone wolf when I ride...like t ogo and do what I please, but thought it would be interesting to go for a group ride once in a while. I always thought it looked pretty cool seeing a dozen or so bikes coming down the road, if not downright intimidating :D:D

Toby and I are members of Star touring, however there is no local chapter close enough to us that we can join.
Not enough riders up here either to form our own chapter lol
We just pay our dues and ride. Someday we hope to actually make it to a Star Days event.

I know the feeling . That's why I joined a local chapter and they ade me VP . They didn't ride nearly enough for me . Or the rides were way too short the biggest problem with it was the members wouldn't commit to a ride or event . I know they are not all that way .Some of surrounding area chapters around had Great events and meet some Great people .
So now I m Idependant ,guess I spent too much time alone , to try and organize rides none showed up for . My rides are usually 300-400 miles longest was 648 miles day trips and had a blast just ride with whoever I caught up with for a few miles . I'll ride with anyone if they want to ride but stopping every 50-75 miles I just can't do.No disrespect intended its just not for me .
