There local chapters all over. By being part of larger organization they make it more family and ethically oriented. The local chapter here in Orange County is http://www.star422.com/. I have not hooked up with them yet but on the to do list. They have monthly rides so its cool to hook with other Yami riders but they are not linited to Star as there are a few Harley guys in the group from what I have heard.

I just got my card after having bought my bike in June. Activated it and was looking around the website. Lots of Star stuff, but Stryker stuff was non-existent. They had rockers and t-shirts for most of the other models. A little frustrating, but a couple of guys I work with are in the local and speak very highly of it.

After you purchased your bike you should have received a purchase evaluation form from Star Motorcycles, did you fill it out and mail it back to them? If not then that might be why you were over looked. What we got was a large lime-green card from Star Touring & Riding Assoc.

I bought mine in April, filled out the online survey in April and just got my temporary card at the beginning of September.

Whoops... Guess I shouldn't have thrown that out. They don't have a chapter in Rochester anyways, not riding out to Buffalo to be in one.

Received a green card in the mail. It told me to either send an e-mail to the address listed or call a number. I sent the e-mail and got a reply with a login and password for the website. There's supposed to be sending some more stuff. My boss is in the local group here and speaks highly of it.

You don't have to join a chapter to be a member of the association.
