Has anyone removed the stock heat sheilds from their exhaust yet? How hard is it, do they come completely off? I'm thinking of pulling my and wrapping the pipes up to the catalytic converter. Haven't decided to go with the 4" Slip on or not.

It looks like they are just bolted on but since I haven't taken my pipes off yet I was curious.

That's what I did with mine. They come off very easily...

If you decide to go with a 4" slip-on though, I recommend pulling them, removing the bump-outs, and putting them back on before you wrap. I put on a smaller slip-on, so the heat shields were too wide and it looked funny.

Most of the heat shields are hose clamped on, on most bikes. Some are welded. Believe these are clamped on. Others have wrapped theirs too. So must be clamped. Go for it. Wanna see pics.

Thanks! I really like that. And THAT'S exactly what I'm thinking and want!!! Now to save up the money to buy the slip on!

Oh what slip on did you get by the way? That doesn't look like the Cobra 4"???
