Hey has anybody else had an issue with the rear tire not holding pressure? Mine will settle at about 15lbs but it won't hold above that? Any ideas? And anybody know where to get a new tire cheap? I just did a quick check and it's like $260 for a new 210...

have no problems keeping air in, just keeping tread on, thats all. if its a slow leak i would start at the valve steam.... i just ordered my avon 240 of ebay for $215.50 with free shipping... let me see if i can find a link for ya

here ya go, a few other cheaper options for 240 that i would be a little concerened with my riding style as far as the stock 210... im sure you can serch ebay in the same manner

Have you checked your rim? If you hit something and slightly bent it the bead may not seal properly. Also you might try deflating it and resetting the bead, this has worked for me in the past, it might work for you.
Thanks all. I haven't hit anything or bent the rim, and now the place I have service the bike says that they automatically replace rather than repair? Another place said they'd "plug" the hole, I didn't think anybody did that anymore due to liability.
Also I was just told that I shouldn't have a stock Bridgestone on the front and say an Avon on the back. They said it's dangerous??? Anybody hear this before?

I had my Avon 240 patched like 1,500 miles ago and it's holding up just fine. I've heard that ideally you don't mix and match the front and rears but it won't hurt anything. I still have my stock front tire with my Avon rear and it works just fine. NO ISSUES. I think it's more important for a cornering machine like a sport bike.Porkchop said:

I've been having a similar slow leak for about a week now. Couldn't find anything puncture-wise and replaced the valve core. After the core swap it was still losing around 5lbs a day. With no real answer, I ordered a 240 and put it on today. Initial thoughts are that it looks big almost in a distracting way and I feel like I lost something in handling. Il. Probably get used to the look, but time will tell on the handling. I should mention that I've only put about 5 miles on it so far, so I may feel different. It's just that my immediate though was that I was having to push it into turns more instead of it falling in. About to put a few more miles on for comparison.
I had this problem on a car once. Tires would slowly loose pressure after topping off and never could find any holes. Took it to the tire shop and they took the tires off, cleaned the rim beads off and used some kind of tire bead glue on the tires and the problem went away. For whatever reason, sometimes the bead doesn't get a good seal and leaks when fully pressurized.
