I've had my '11 Raven Stryker for a year now and I've had more strangers talking to me about it than I can believe. Just last weekend, a guy in a pickup followed me for about 5 miles getting a good look before going on his way, giving me a thumbs up as he left. Five minutes later I see him pull into the dealership where I was headed to pickup my tinted visor. He comes over and asks a few questions and says he had to go to the dealership after seeing the Stryker on the road. He thought it was a custom bike.

Are the members with the other colors having the same experience?

Awesome bike!

The wife and I (she rides a Stryker and I ride a Raider) always strike up conversation and answer the usual questions when we park together.

Yesterday morning I had a group of HD riders come up to a light i was sitting at and turn onto the same road I was on, they slowed down and as I passed them they all gave me the thumbs up, I was low on gas so I whipped it into a QT and they followed. This group of guys were as nice as they could be and just showered my bike with compliments. Not one negative Yamaha remark. I'm going to do a poker run with these guys Saturday morning for breat cancer awareness. I have made more new friends because of this bike in the last 14 months it's rediculous.

I get the same things with mine. Soooo many people ask "what kind of Harley is that" even HD guys thinking its a custom Harley. Funny story, I was in Starbucks having a coffee with a friend with my back to the door. A lady and her son came in and she asked "is that your black bike"? Thinking the worst (like maybe they had backed into) I turned white and said "yes". She said "it is so beautiful and my son loves it. He wanted to know if we could take pictures and I told him we would have to ask if it was okay". Grinning from ear to ear I said "yes, of course it's okay". Made my day.

Took a ride down to the beach the other day to read a book and I parked at the sea wall. When I got back to my bike there were about 10 Harleys and 3 custom made bikes around my Stryker. When ever folks walked past the collection of motorcycles the Stryker is what the would stare at.

"...other colors having the same experience?"

Yup. Some good, some questionable. But theres always a comment of some sort every time I park it at the local coffee house Deja Brew. Just this morning had a guy ask what type of bike it was.

I told him it's name -- Stryker.

"Nice. Harley Stryker. Huh."

"No. Star. Star Stryker."

"I'm not familiar with the custom brands -- I prefer Harley. Custom bikes have reliability issues and get expensive if there's a problem."

"Not as much as you might think...what sort of bike do you have?"

"Uh, I don't."

Then he got into a Prius and left.

When riding with the missus, or at the Raider Rally, it's funny to see how many do a double, triple take when a babe is riding the Stryker.

That really cool. I have met a couple of HD riders that didn't judge me or my bike because " it's not an HD".

I had a lot of very cool vehicle in my life. I would say that the Stryker is the one that got the most attention.

There is not a single day, riding that beast, that I did not get a thumbs-up ... "Nice bike" ... cell phone picture ... or questions on it. I stopped counting.

I get people looking at my bike alllll the time. I wear a full face helmet with a black shield so when Im at a red light I see people staring from the corner of my eye and I’m like “Yea *****, you like that.” At times at the light people give me a thumbs up. Yes, when I have it parked people say it’s a nice HD and I say to them it’s not rather it’s a Yamaha….they say wow never thought Yamaha could make that.
I work for Japanese company so there are Japanese business men coming to visit our facility all the time. One time I went to visit a customer so I rode from the office straight to the customer while the visitors rode from the hotel to the same customer. I got there early and waited outside for them, few minutes later I see them pulling in and park a few slots from my motorcycle. They get out and observe my bike but are unaware that I ride a motorcycle. Both Japanese men are eyeballing it hard and talking in Japanese so I know they were talking about the bike so I wave at them. I know one of the guys so I say “nice to see you again” then he sees me with my leather jacket and helmet on the side….He puts two and two together and asked me if that was my bike and say “yes”….He then says is that a Harley, which in Japan all cruisers are classified as an American bike. I tell him no it’s a Yamaha and couldn’t believe Japanese would create this type of bike. Also he saw my helmet, a Shoe and said that was also Japanese. He then says, “you work for a Japanese company, have a Japanese bike, have a Japanese helmet and all you need now is a Japanese wife”….I started laughing…Anyways they were so impressed with the bike they too pictures on it, I turned it on for them to hear the noise…they were admiring the bike like they were 12 years old……funny experience.

Took mine to a paint shop today to get the tank painted (working on a new design going from a Raven Stryker to a Flying Tiger Stryker) and he told me I would have to go to the Harley dealer to get the paint code, told him they probably wouldn't have the code I needed.

That's hilarious. I couple times I almost asked the other guy what he rode but I sort of had the vibe he didn't ride so I let him off easy.

Don't want to hijack the thread, but a Flying Tiger Stryker sounds bad-ass. I definitely want to see that paint job.
