Ya the Stryker proved once again how solid of a bike it is. And I am so glad we put new Metzler tires on the wife's V Star because we hit ice in several places on our 2 day 200+ mile ride. And on one corner we hit black ice. Bikers worst nightmare. We both slid and fish tailed but managed to keep both bikes upright and kept going. Now we are home safe and sound sipping on some hot eggnog and brandy. Merry Christmas every one.

Ya we just had to get one more ride in and break in that new tire and get the recall work done on the V star. My wife is riding with real confidence now. I feel comfortable with the idea of a 2 or 3 thousand mile ride with her this summer on her own bike. Looks like we have a winter storm bearing down on us. But that will just keep us down till the sun comes out and the snow melts a just a little. hehe. ;D

Glad to hear you guys recovered from the close call. Sounds like you and your wife are ready for the upcoming trip. Just remember, when you get complacent is what accidents happen, always respect the bike...lol... Just some friendly advice! Enjoy your holidays!!!

I know you're planning on being in Reno for the Western Area Raider Rally....first two rounds are on me......ok that don't sound right....but you get the meaning......the meet up has not been set up yet but me and a friend will be staying in Carson City next door to Grandma Hatties restaraunt

Ya sounds good. The wife and I will probably come down from Tahoe. It's about 30 minutes from there to Carson, wait, at my wife's pace 50 minutes, lol. Unless we come in from the north and don't go to Tahoe then we will go to Reno 1st. Reno is only 40 minutes from Carson. Keep me informed.

We are counting our lucky stars, Star bikes The next time we want to ride we will trailer the bikes of this hill. We have a three horse slant that we park the bikes in. I just have to weld or bolt some mounts for tie downs then we are good to go. There is weather bearing down on us right now and when it starts it usually doesn't stop til May. That's a long time to sit.
