I have been enjoying the heck out of my stryker! Had it over a year now. Haven't done a ton to it, just tasetful stuff. (minus the Nitrous, thats just awesome. I save that for the little rocket bikes.)

I ride with all sorts of guys, sport bikes, many other Yamaha guys, Harley guys, Hondas, a little of everything. The one thing I love to do is race. I like acceleration, raw power, burning rubber, sideways action.... yada yada. Not really top speed... but that's a by product of power. I had a high 9 second street car I just sold, so the stryker gets the punishment of filling my Void while I build my next car.

I always felt like the underdog to the harleys, etc etc.... Smaller engine, not as much chrome,... F' it. This is the little 1300 that could. Seriously. this little motor can crank some ponies. All I have is My megabuddys 2.0 slip on, and an opened up air cleaner. I JUST added a programmer this last weekend . Havent battled anybody with the programmer on yet.

With the stryker you can wind it up and pound it, its ridiculous how much this bike can handle. Clutch dumps, burning rubber, sideways, it loves to REV. I have laid 15 feet of solid rubber from a dig, its SOO controllable! 10 mph rolling clutch dumps burning rubber... I kid you not. It impresses most people. From the design of the bike you can ram it and ride it hard. It wont buck you off. It has NEVER lifted the front tire off the ground. (btw, I weigh around 180) The long wheel base and rake, along with the belt drive makes this bike so Predictable. If you cant get them on a roll, you can kill them from a dig because you can lay the power down with these bikes. Slow speed 10 mph roll Wind it up and dump it in first, they wont know whats coming.

Harleys will pull the wheel up, the Stryker won't. Hook it and book it.

Kawasaki Mean streak 1500, absolutely kills a V-Star 1300. Stroked 88 to 95 CI harley putting down 104 to the tire, 2 modded 96 CI harleys, with good riders, Stryker wins, I don't get it. I have a dyno appointment in 2 weeks. I want to know what my bike actually puts down. I do plan on taking the bike to the Drag strip in Mid July for some Fun!

Just thought I would share my fun! LOL
BTW, I always ride with Helmet and proper gear, as we all should.

I agree this bike can flat out scoot. The Stryker may not have the ponies that some other bikes do but I think the major difference is the design of the Stryker allows it to effectively plant all of the power it does make. Big horsepower doesn't mean jack if you cant put it to the pavement.

Sooooooo I'm riding with three close friends on Hwy 25 (It's a twisty 2 lane road running from Hollister to King City California). It has one long straight that runs through about 4 miles of vineyards. Two of my friends have 2011 Street Bobs both (96ci and stock except for slip-ons and remap) the third has the new Dyna Wide Glide which is stock except for (for some V&H and a remap). My Stryker is stock except for the SuperTrapp slip-on and was able to hold its own especially through the MID-RANGE. It had no trouble keeping up to 100 plus mph (we backed off because we're all on Medicare). As you may have already guessed the Street Bobs reeeleeee scooted through the twisties; my guess is it was because of their shorter wheelbase, lean angles, and narrower tires (I know the advantage of narrower tires is a debatable point with the ..."once you go Fat you'll never go Back tire forum members.."). My Stryker kept up with Street Bobs except through the tightest of corners. The Dyna Wide Glide kept up me except through the 'next tightest of corners. No one got crazy. PEACE RIDE SAFE

Well, I have not pushed it to it's limits and probably won't as I gotta take it easy cause I'll be a medicare person come January if I make it that long. The bike doesn't have much low end grunt due to it's short stroke but once the rpms get up, it pulls like nothing I've experienced. 5th gear roll-ons at 70 and 80 are very impressive. Not a fun bike in the sharp twisties but it wasn't built for that. Also, not too good on a gravel road probably because of the narrower front tire. Finally getting broken in though after 4300 miles....it doesn't crack and pop when cooling down like it used to. :)

Sounds like you ride the **** out of your Stryker. Good for you. You say you JUST added the programmer. So it ran good with the opened air box, and the slip on pipe you made? I am looking to make a pipe, but worried I will need a programmer. Sounds like yours ran great without one.

The Bike worked Great with the Muffler and Slightly opened up air box EXCEPT when It was cooler out 70 and below. When I added the K and N it was worse, lots of popin and crackling.. No problems in warmer temps till I added the K and N.

Thank you. I opened the air box a little, and drilled my factory exhaust, and it works great, minimal popping on decleration. Going to make a slip on. I live in the Los Angeles area, so this time of year, temps are usually well above 70. I will hopefully be getting a tuner before it cools down.

Canyon1, I agree with you on 1st gear starts, it takes 'alot' of revs in 1st to get to where you want to shift without it lugging ALSO somewhat the same practice in 2nd. The good news is its 100 x83 short stroke engine gives you permission to rev it. I agree, it was not meant to agressively corner. It's 'NOT' a sport touring bike; its a 68+inch wheelbase cruiser. Having said that, if you're riding with some fellow cruisers, especially along the backroads, the Stryker holds its own and more in the handling department. As far as my SuperTrapp slip-on, I was able to bribe, it's amazing what beer and one of Safeway's feta cheese deli sandwichs will get you, one of the dealership's mechanics during lunch to dial (decreasing the distance between the SuperTrapp endcap and the end of the muffler) in the highest torque reading using the shop's dyno. ALSO I have to remember 'not' to ride it like I ride my Road Warrior. The Warrior has an R1 front end, shorter wheelbase, narrower rear tire, greater lean angle AND longer stroke engine (it feels happier in the lower rpms)...MID-RANGE (3rd and 4th gear are the Stryker's 'money' gears) up and into the high '90s is where the Stryker reeeeleeee shines...PEACE RIDE SAFE

Borderlandbiker, it is inspiring to hear that old people like you still ride like the younger ones. At 64, I don't feel that I have lost too much in the way of riding skills. Maybe my eyesight isn't what it once was, but I think I have a better feel for the bike and it's potential than I used to. Also, I have a better feel for the type of riding that I enjoy the most and when and where to ride so that each outing is a fun experience.
If you want to feel younger, go to a BMW rally. I've been to 3 of them with a riding buddy and there are many old farts in their 60s, 70s and a few 80s. ;D

If I'm feeling my oat (can't really say oats anymore) my son has an 2010 FZ1 that I'll take out once in awhile BUT cruisers are more my speed. I feel more relaxed and have more fun on them...Both the Warrior and the Stryker are perfect for just a puttin' along the backroads listenin' to my IPod (my granddaughter downloaded the 'Best of Doo ***' onto it for Christmas)....PEACE RIDE SAFE...P.S. Doo *** music was what was popular in the '50s

I have raced my bike against a Big Dog and Victory that both have a 106. My baby kept up for a bit but they both end up pulling away from me. It's just so much fun to punch her and take off!

Elle, your Stryker, if you haven't lowered it, should hang with/even beat the Big Dog through the twisties...The 106 ci Victory's a different story, especially if you were up against one of their more basic models (they corner as well as Harley's Street Bob). Next time you meet your BiG Dog friend don't drag race him BUT have him follow you around some of your favorite backroads for an afternoon...PEACE RIDE SAFE
