Greetings & Salutations one and all, I am soon to be Stryker owner - have been silently following the forum... (ok.. actually trying to just absorb the inordinate amount of information within) - and just about ready to take the plunge on a new bike. Really like the Black on Black Raven theme, too bad they didn't make them for the '12s - So, either a New 13, or find a decent used '11.

Thus leads me to a question for all you Illinois riders...

does anyone know this person (or are aware of this listing)?

rmw22 - from Fallon, IL.

I'm thinking it's a pretty sweet ride with some very nice mods, and within easy "stryking" distance from the Indy area.

Anyway - just thought I'd chime and I look forward to riding with some of you... (hoping to make the Stryker fest in N.C.)!

Thanks for the welcome!

I just found his craigslist - listing... He's asking $9,300.00 - Would like your opinions if you think that is a reasonable price - or is he overpriced for a 2011 - even with the mods?

Thanks again,
DEW!

It is a resonable price, plus he already has some very nice exhaust. Those are the Vance and Hine twin staggered, and they sound amazing!

A few of his mods list are over priced "show". (pipes and programer are both around 450 not 500). Still the bike is nearly 100% complete.

I'm about to contact him to negotiate a price - but before I do, I have one serious concern. He has the Low & Mean lowering spring on the bike, and I do alot of 2up riding with the wife. Would someone be able to tell me how this will effect the ride when we are riding together?

I know you are still able to adjust it a bit to softer or stiffer, was just wanting some input possibly from someone who has this kit on the bike and does the occasional 2up riding?

Once again, my thanks - and I have to say of all the forums I take part in, this has to be one of the most active and fun bunch of ppl! I really look forward to interacting on this forum and meeting some of you!

Barring anything coming up in a physical inspection/test drive I'd say the price is decent. You can probably hunt around and get a brand new 2012 for that price but not the color you want and no aftermarket goodies installed. Depreciation is what it is and you can guesstimate that off Kelly Blue Book. My opinion is that driving off the lot/1st year is always a big hit which you are going to take anyway even if new.
Many of the items installed are the common/popular ones you might have gravitated to anyway. The bike is definitely very rideable right now with the possible exception of the spring for 2-up.
Call or email Low and Mean and ask them. Listing says stock spring is included so you could always swap it out or pay someone to do it. My shop is $75/hour. I seem to recall reading that the L&M spring was a bear to install.

Barring the inspection and test ride coming up this saturday... it's a done deal! Then its a 4 1/2 hour drive from St. Louis back up to Indy (Anderson)... Hoping the weather forecast warms up a bit... LOL - I'm prepared to ride in colder conditions, just would prefer warmer weather. - posted pic's & current mods - in my garage.

Now on order - Parts unlimited flame solo & extra wide pillion, Yamaha Backrest / luggage rack, Mustang back rest pad.

-Soon to be ordered saddle bag mounts - don't know if I should just order the yamaha ones / or some other companies... guess it depends on which bags we want to purchase eh?.... we like the Saddleman Tattoo bags - so i'll have to check how they mount to the bike. Anyone have any experience with the Saddleman Tattoo bags?

----- hope to be able to make it to the Stryker Rally down in N.C. with the rest of you! Would love to meet up with ppl going thru Indiana / Kentucy on down... will discuss in that thread!

-passenger floorboards - gotta make the wife comfy!
-possibly the scootmod - still reading on the forums on how to do that with the engine guard... may require some guidance there.

-BikerMojo faceplate! -
-Does the mod'ing ever stop... sheesh.. just reading all what everyone has done - makes the 'Ol wish list quite a long one! lol

Well, I was supposed to be picking up the bike today in St. Louis, but due to the T-Storm rumbling through the area, I decided to err on the better part of caution and postpone the pick up until Wednesday. Especially for a 4 1/2 hr ride.

It's not that I am opposed to riding through the rain, it's more that because I am unfamiliar with the idiosyncrasies of the bike, especially when its raining & 50 F,(hate being cold and wet) that I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Kindu've bummed, but at least I'll be whole & healthy to be bummed.:frown:

Well, It's finally home - Went to St. Louis this morning , did a quick inspection, signed the paper work and rode it back 5 hrs to home. 80+ degee weather - just perfect! now I'm wind & sun burned and have a wee bit of numb bum... but it's worth it to have the bike sitting in the garage waiting for future mods! First up... New Seats! yikes -- stock suks!
