I dropped a mirco fiber cloth on to my HOT exhaust after a ride today. After the pipes cooled down, I tried to scrap off the burnt residue. I got about 99%of it off using a credit card, but I am having trouble getting the last of it off. Any suggestions on what else I could use without damaging?

Try a little oven cleaner. I've used it to get burnt boot marks out off pipes before. Test an inconspicuous spot first just to make sure your particular cleaner won't harm anything.. Also WD40 will clean of a lot of nasty stuff.

Thanks everyone. Like I said after the pipes cooled down I used a old credit card to get most off, then a little wd-40 got it all. lastly buffed them up with a little mothers --- good as new.
