I know, I know, I've had the bike for a year and have not taken the seat off. I just picked up a Parts Unlimited seat and want to try it out. Thanks in advance, guys!!
You must have won that ebay auction, what a steal... CongratsBackinBlack said:I know, I know, I've had the bike for a year and have not taken the seat off. I just picked up a Parts Unlimited seat and want to try it out. Thanks in advance, guys!!
So that's why the bike won't start and the seat keeps falling off.....Stryker said:LOL completely understandable. on the left side of the bike underneath the seat you'll see a key slot you have to use your key to remove the seat. insert key and turn it then pull up on the front of the seat.

I'll try to get some posted this weekend. I've been busier than a one-legged man at an ass kicking contest this week! LOLmidlifecrisis said:pics?
That would suck!!!Michael said:don't leave your **** keys on the battery or something then put the seat back on!! somebody here did that LOL
doh!!!Toby said:Ya thought I did that after putting saddle bags on put my seat on then couldn't find my keys. Panicked thinking they were under the seat. Then my wife said she took the spare key off and hung it in the house. Went to open the seat latch and found the key still in it. OOOPPPPSSS :-X
Hey ROADKILL! do you know where they put the shims? Because my seat wiggles a little after putting the saddle bags on and even more if I take them of now.ROADKILL said:So that's why the bike won't start and the seat keeps falling off.....Stryker said:LOL completely understandable. on the left side of the bike underneath the seat you'll see a key slot you have to use your key to remove the seat. insert key and turn it then pull up on the front of the seat.
Just as a reference point when I got my Corbin the seat was a little loose so I had to take it to them so they could put some shims in....in case anyone else runs into that kind of problem
Looking at the pics of your bike looks like you have a one piece mine is two piece....not sure what the saddle bags have to do with the seat movingToby said:Hey ROADKILL! do you know where they put the shims? They are 2 piece. They are throw overs. They Velcro together in the center over the fender under the rear seat and the double layer of leather plus Velcro is thick enough to raise the seat a bit so after setting on the seat I imagine it re-shaped it slightly. So it's the driver part of the set that is lose and the passenger part is real snug with the part of the saddle bag strap underneath it which actually made it hard to get the back seat clamps back in the slots. If that gives you an idea of the problem?ROADKILL said:Looking at the pics of your bike looks like you have a one piece mine is two piece....not sure what the saddle bags have to do with the seat movingToby said:Hey ROADKILL! do you know where they put the shims? When I said one piece I was refering to the seat...what do you mean by "slots" on the Raider there is a square shaped u bolt on the rear of the fender for the clip on the under side of the pillion....it sounds like the thickness of the saddle bag strap has caused a gap under the rider seat by deforming the seat pan...the reason it is looser with the bags off is the clips on the pillion part of the seat have bentToby said:They are 2 piece.
