So I went to install my new progressive springs. Removed my stock springs no problem, all is well. I go to cut the spacers annnnnnnnnd..... I manage to cut one 1/16" too short. So after some cussing I cut the provided spacer to the correct length and carry on my way. Left tube assembly goes back together just fine with a little work. Right side won't friggin start to thread. I get frustrated and keep trying instead of walk away... I slightly cross thread the bloody thing! So now I have to recover the threads without totally f'in up the entire tube assembly. As I struggle to recover from a near fatal mistake THWAP! I nearly cried as the sound I heard was my wrench smacking the tank, leaving a nice little dent/chip to remind me of my nightmare. :tsk:
I'm so pissed right now that I A) messed up the threading on the right fork, and B) dented / chipped my tank, but not only did I dent it, I dented it on the side that everyone sees when approaching it. I've done plenty of spring and fork oil replacements... can't believe I messed this up.
On a lighter note, my god how much of an improvement these springs are! I didn't get to test them too much since I'm on duty at work and cant leave, but I took it for a spin down the driveway and back and did some hard braking. Much better! If only I didn't damage my precious tank
