I'm just wondering why everywhere I read on the web, people comment on how "ugly" our swingarms are? I am starting to take this personally and find that it is a fine piece of crafstmanship, with above average welds, clean lines, and simple functionality. All of the reasons why I bought my stryker to begin with. I was looking at another brand motorcyle (I won't say what brand LOL) prior to purchasing the stryker and I can honestly tell you that that whole bike looked like it wouldn't have lasted 3 months with the bubble gum welds, rust spots from the factory, and dry rotted rubber motor mounts. This one was a factory 2009 left over for just under $15,000 Trust me I could have purchased any bike that my heart desired, but for me the stykers lines are just spot on and so is the value! So what's the beef with our swingarms?

its just not sexy... the boxy tubes and the bolts sticking out the back just look ugly. it might be crafted well but it is not the best thing to look at. exhasut covers one side and side mount plate covers the other along with my turn signals so i dont notice the uglyness anymore lol

i am honestly not that concerned or bothered by the 2x4 swing arm look.. granted there are nicer ones out there, but to me its just part overall look of the bike and it works for it. but again thats just my opinion and I'm definitely not a big time bike enthusiast that keeps up on alot of this stuff.

For what Yamaha want to accomplish with the Stryker they are ugly. Even my sons Vstar 1300 has a better finish swing arm. I even like the Vstars fuel tank cap better, it is more functional.
Which looks better?

I understand the modding, I am 6'-5" 260lbs there is not one bike other than from maybe Victory that would fit me out of the show room.
Other than just ugly there seems that there is even a problem with the strength difference on the belt adjustment.
I also compare simple things on the aluminum that they may do good on one bike they seem to just slap together on another.
Was Yamaha just trying to keep up with Honda on getting out a mid sized chopped style cruiser, and that is why we have good with the ugly.
It can't be just that Yamaha wants us to mod the bikes, if they did they themselves would have enough small items to improve the bike.

The Yamaha Ad for the Stryker says-" We make the Bike, You make it your own"!
