Friday I got hit from the right. He pulled out at the last sec. And I had nowhere to go but to try and out run him. Smashed my right foot breaking bones in foot and ankle, the heat shield sliced into my foot and around my heel, road rash about a dozen different spots, stitched my eyebrow back on and my brain was bleeding the first night at the hospital. I was just released last evening and doing pretty good. Dunno what's gunna happen with my bike but I did see pictures and it looks better than I do. I know it doesn't take much to total a bike and im not looking forward in dealing with the insurance companies. I just hope I dont get screwed ove...

Seems like a rough deal either way but keep in mind you made it so not all is negative. It sucks to deal with insurance for certain and even i forget that the alternative would have been to never ride again, insurances and time seems trivial when you think what may have been and what we actually have instead of the final ride. Glad your on your way to recovery.

Sorry to hear about that. I am thankful every time I arrive at my destination. Sucks that you can be the safest, most careful rider, and some A hole can still cause you harm. Sounds like what happened to a friend of mine a couple years back. He was on a SV1000 and someone pulled out on his right. His foot took off the bumper of the car.. has many screws and plates in his ankle forever. He just bought a Roadstar Silverado a couple weeks ago. He is glad to be riding again. Get better..

Sorry to hear that dude. This is my biggest fear riding in this very over-populated San Diego area that a careless driver will take me out. This is why I have a GoPro video camera mounted to my bike and start the recording every time I take it out. Video evidence will tell the real story if needed.

Thanks everyone, each day I feel 10x better than the last. It happened about 40yds from my front door (I was on salem rd and he pulled out from southview dr... I think that's the name of it) I wear my gear about 95% of the time and this was on of those times I didn't have any on. I was very lucky

Bikes are bikes and can be replaced. You only get one life. Glad to hear you made it through and hope you're back to 100% soon.

2 weeks after getting ran off the road i bought another bike, because if i didnt as soon as possible then i would probably never be on a bike again. Had to wait 4 weeks to ride because of a broken collar bone.. Thank god i wear a full face helmet.
