you could always take a drimel and cut out that little peg

dremel tool works well, however not that I got everything apart, lights all wired in the @#$#%$ left turn signal doesn't work. Light strip is broken.

I can see this is going to be a trend. Bad idea to bend those long strips into a square box.

I agree Boz, can't understand why L&M didn't put the strips on the bracket if for no other reason than to protect them

Replaced mine with a bolt from when I took off part of the belt guard.

OK, getting the right tool might have been easier and less of a mess, but using the dremel to get rid of the nub just help set the tone for a frustrating night. Anyway now I can get the bolt out with a regular T30, which is good since I'll have to take it all off again when I get the new LED strip.

Get rid of that bolt alltogether. If you've removed one of or both of the belt guards, just use one of those bolts in its place.
