Hi everyone,

Just got my new 2013 candy red stryker today. Bare stock... the fun begins.

I come from the sportbike world. Having a bike without a tach is a problem.

Is anyone using the Dynojet LCD? Would that not double as a tach as well? Even more info??

Thank you.

I had a tough time getting used to it without a Tach too for a while.
Give yourself some seat time and you'll forget all about it.
I had a nice little Tach set-up saved on my favorites after I fist got my Stryker, thinking there was no way I was going to get used to it but I have since deleted that site.

Only time I look at mine is when at 60 mph, I know I am in 5th when tach says 2500 RPM. That and when I really get on it- I can tell when to upshift before I get the downer of the Rev Limiter.

Is that 2500 rpm's in fifth gear at 60mph with a stock tire and stock 31tooth pulley?

Is that 5200 rpm's in fifth gear at 60mph with a stock tire and stock 31tooth pulley?
2500 rpm's with 240 C2 on a PM 8" wheel with 30 tooth pulley, fifth gear, 60 mph. Had same rpm's with Avon 250 same wheel, same pulley.

I love having a tach. One of my first mods. I got the drag specialties black one for like $75. Made my own tach adapter and mount for it:

I watch it closely when racing or diagnosing. Otherwise I don't look at it much.

The Dynojet LCD is a fairly pricey add-on to the PCV which requires a dyno tune. You don't wanna do that till you get a BAK and pipes so... You are lookin at some pretty hefty outlays as prereqs to getting that Dynojet LCD.

do you have pictures of how you mounted the tach? were you able to put a red matching light in it?
I really like that setup.

Thanks. My Roadliners max tq came in at 2100 rpms. Yet at a true 70mph it reved at 3000rpm. That is ridiculous for a 1854cc vtwinn with a 5200 red line. Alot of us did a rear pulley swap from the stock 70th to the hd 65th pulley. That only dropped to a 200rpm less. The Roadliner owners would kill for our 5speed gear box. You would rev even lower if you had the stock 31th pulley on your Stryker.

Here it is. The handlebar bracket that came with the tach is low: right on top of the base of the right bar. Attached to that is a zinc ell bracket that is 3.5 inches tall (painted black). Comes up right under the tach. I cut the other side of the ell off at about 1.5 inch. The Y bracket on the bottom of the tach is bolted to the end of the 1.5" leg. I had to cut off the corner of the speedo cover to get the tach snugged up close at the right height. You can't tell the corner is cut.

I have not tried getting a red light for it. The one downside to this tach is the needle is not luminescent so you can't see it at night unless it is over a lit mark. No biggie: I don't race or diagnose at night :).

Here's were I put mine. Came with the mount for the handlebar. Easily read at night also.
