This was something that I have seen done on here and wanted to do so I finally sat down and got it done.. I HATED that reflector in the rear and how big it made the rear tail assembly look.. So I trimmed that off and trimmed the lower plastic under the plate.. Added a chrome frame with 6 white led's that face down and replaced my plain led light bolts with skull led light bolts.. I also add the Kuryakyn plug and play "all on" kit which makes the rear turn signals running lights and also brake lights as well as being blinkers.. It also adds a flash feature which when the brake is applied the lights flash a few times before going steady.. I also changed the rear bulbs from amber to red..Here are some quick pics.. I have to get better ones with the lights on as they blur the picture out...

what did you use to cut the plastic i want to cut mine off right below the tail light then mount plate on side of the bike!
I did this to mine before I cut the actual fender. A utility knife with a new blade worked just fine. Just go slow.

This day and age, if there is a will there is a way to find out where you live and steal your ****. I could give two ****s on anonymity...

Looks good, but I don't know how it would be having red rear lights..... I am used to the amber

I am a law enforcement officer and trust me.. You should always black out your plate when putting photos on the internet.. Especially via the internet when you share mods and accessories.. Sometimes I miss it but I always try to make sure to blur or black it out.. As stated.. When there is a will there is a way.. All it takes is a criminal to get an inside job at dmv or to know someone at dmv that can check the plate to get your info.. ALSO and the major reason I black out the plate is due to things I have seen on this job.. Believe it or not.. People will find plate numbers that match their vehicles and make a fake plate.. They then bolt this on to their vehicle when conducting criminal activity.. This is a big thing when it comes to tolls.. They will print out a fake plate on paper and then place it behind one of those plastic covers.. This will give the illusion that it is a real plate.. So when taht person runs a red light camera or a toll booth and a photo is taken it will come back to your vehicle and now you have to deal with going to court to prove it wasnt you.. Granted a person can just run around town and find a car that matches their vehicle but the internet makes it that much easier..

Personally, I'm all for anonymity in the big picture. And, just because a person is paranoid, doesn't mean someone isn't out to get them. Identity theft prevention is where I concentrate most of my efforts - which would/could include license plates or other personal information posted in a place with easy and widespread access, like the Internet. I shred anything that has my name and address on it before disposing of it. And, sure, if someone is determined enough, they may still be able to piece it back together, but they're going to have to work for it.
